What a day for Dumpster Fire Offroad.

The morning started with Hannah and Aspen lining up for the Youth 1000 UTV race. Hannah was absolutely ripping through the course and looking strong until lap two, when the other rear wheel hub decided it had enough. Fortunately, Hannah immediately knew something wasn’t right, backed off, and carefully limped the car back to the pits under its own power without causing any more damage. Unfortunately, that mechanical failure left them finishing at the back of the field.

Back at camp, it was all hands on deck. Hopper, Jeff, and Hannah tore into the car, swapped in spare parts, and had it race-ready in no time.

In the afternoon, Hannah and Taylor climbed back in for the UTV Turbo race against some of the fastest drivers around. They launched off the line, drove an incredible race, and Hannah picked off several competitors throughout the day. After eight hard-fought laps, they crossed the finish line 5th in the UTV Turbo class!

Results are great, but what I’m most proud of isn’t the finish. It’s watching my daughters and my wife jump in, push themselves, overcome setbacks, and never quit. Racing together as a family creates memories we’ll never forget.

These are the weekends that make all the late nights in the garage worth it.

What a day.

We started the morning getting the car ready with Jeff, Hannah, Aspen, Taylor, and Hopper. Once everything was buttoned up, it was time to have some fun.

Hannah got a few practice laps with Aspen in the passenger seat, then a few more with Taylor. I even took Hannah out for a lap… and I think I might have scared her just a little. 😄 Jennifer and Jeff also got out for a lap before it was time to qualify.

Hannah and Taylor headed out for qualifying and were doing great until the rear wheel hub exploded, ending their run before they could finish the lap. That’s racing.

A huge thank you to the YORR staff for helping us get the car back to camp. With Hopper and Jeff turning wrenches, we replaced the rear hub, brake caliper, and rotor just in time for the Powder Puff race.

Jennifer climbed behind the wheel and absolutely crushed it. She was driving fast, smooth, and having an incredible run. During the race, another car rolled over and was leaking fuel, so we stopped to help. Jeff jumped out to assist with stopping the fuel leak and checking on the racers. Thankfully, everyone was okay. Once everything was safe, we finished the race.

I couldn’t be more proud of this team today. No matter what gets thrown at us, everyone steps up, helps each other, and keeps smiling.

Tomorrow is another big day!

Check out Hannah and Taylor in their qualifying run!

Taylor jumped in at the last minute for Aspen, and the two of them did an awesome job. Unfortunately, a mechanical issue cut their run short before they could finish, but that’s racing.

Watching these girls get out there, work together, and take on a race like this makes me incredibly proud. They stayed positive, handled the challenges, and gave it everything they had.

This one didn’t end the way we hoped, but it’s just another chapter in the story. They’ll be back, and so will the race car.

I’m proud of both of you. ❤️
