This weekend we wrapped up the 2023-24 SYWAT season with state. The competition was so tough this year we were going arrow for arrow. I ended up taking not only first in state but shooter of the year. Congrats to all the girls that I shot against they really shot amazing this year. Also congrats to Landon, Chloe, Cole, and all of my other friends that podiumed this weekend. Thank God for all these amazing opportunities I’ve had and the amazing outcome of this weekend.⚡️💘

Had so much fun at my first ASA Pro Am last weekend in Foley. Shot my personal best both rounds and was super proud of the outcome. Finished with a 430 and 18 bonus rings and ended up in 4th. This was hands down the most fun I’ve had at a tournament in a while. A huge thanks to my dad for taking me and to all the friends there that hung around to support me. Last but not least praise God for giving me these amazing opportunities to shoot in such awesome tournaments. 🤙🏻💘

I had an absolute blast shooting at Aggie Invite this past weekend. I got to catch up with some old friends and make a lot of new ones. The competition was amazing as well. I ended up taking second place in my last competition as a U15 archer. Congrats to Khloe Noelke, Gracelyn Sinclair, Cole Ware, Julia Cook, and every other archer that podiumed this event. Mom and I also got to catch up with the amazing Bayli Honeycutt, she is such a good role model and I love her like a sister. A big thanks to my mom as well for driving me.

Sunday #1

As a competitive archer there's one thing I hear above all else: focus. I'm constantly being told to focus on my target. I feel like one of our main problems today is that we are constantly forgetting to focus on our target. We have so many things distracting us from the Lord in today's times. The most common thing to blame is social media, but it's so much more than just that. The devil is constantly putting distractions in front of us day after day. As a society I think that we should devote more time to Christ in our days. A few simple things you can do are: write Bible verses on pieces of paper and put them in places that you will forget and randomly find them as days go by, writing Bible verses on your mirror, writing a verse on your hand, and if you're an archer writing verses on your fletchings. As we go on in our lives just remember to focus on the Lord, the target.

After an amazing few days of shooting in Iowa we eventually had to drive home. We made a stop in Topeka Kansas for the night at a randomly picked hotel. When we came down for dinner I was surprised to see Pastor John Gray in the restaurant. We soon got into a conversation with our waitress about my tournament and soon he was engaged in the conversation as well. My mom mentioned how we recognized him and I wanted to take a picture. He was surprised that a random teenager knew who he was. He was more than happy to take a picture with a fan and gave me some really good advice on spreading the gospel through whatever platform the Lord gives me, in my case archery. Thank you Mr. Gray for all of your words of wisdom and the picture. Later that night I may or may not have gone downstairs to buy gummy bears and ran into him once again and he said “Well now we know it really is God”. 😂 A God filled ending to a blessed day. 💘

I had sooooo much fun shooting team rounds today! I’m so happy to have placed 2nd!!!! My teammate was absolutely amazing and a total God-send after my first one was unable to compete. Thank you so much Chelsea! (No not my mom, though she deserves thanks as well!😂) I’m so excited for all of my friends and teammates who podiumed this weekend! Once again all the thanks to the Lord, coach Jesse, and my parents. Also special thanks to Bayli Honeycutt - BH Archery for her amazing advice and support this weekend, I’m truly blessed to have such an amazing role model in archery. Good job to everyone who competed this weekend including the archers shooting back home in Texas. 2023 JOAD Target Nationals, that’s a wrap y’all! 💘
