We are having our end of season banquet this Wednesday, June 3rd at 6:00 PM in the high school commons area.

Recent freshmen, sophomores, and juniors (and their families) need to bring an appetizer (salty/sweet, tailgate/game day food) to share and seniors (and their families) will need to bring a dessert to share. Tableware and drinks will be provided.

Once we roll into summer, there's no ideal date, but hopefully most people can make it.

Parents of EBMS track & field athletes... check this out!

We knew that many of the East Buchanan Middle School track & field athletes had really fantastic seasons. I did a "deep dive" into the statistics to show you how good this season was and to hopefully get everyone excited about what's to come in EB Track & Field.

Below are the STATE RANKINGS for some of our EBMS athletes when compared to ALL CLASSES throughout the entire state of Missouri (7th and 8th grades). I only recorded EBMS athletes in the top-100.

100 METER DASH:
Kruze Brown (7th Grade): 11.56 - That is 17th out of 3,240 male athletes that competed in the 100 meter dash this season (7th and 8th grades).

200 METER DASH:
Kruze Brown (7th Grade): 24.27 - That is 32nd out of 2,968 male athletes that competed in the 200 meter dash this season (7th and 8th grades).

400 METER RUN:
Cooper Schilling (7th Grade): 56.38 - That is 55th out of 2,349 male athletes that competed in the 400 meter run this season (7th and 8th grades).

800 METER RUN:
Bennett Jackson (8th Grade): 2:17.75 - That is 51st out of 1,963 male athletes that competed in the 800 meter run this season (7th and 8th grades).

1600 METER RUN:
Bennett Jackson (8th Grade): 5;11.67 - That is 69th out of 1,510 male athletes that competed in the 1600 meter run this season (7th and 8th grades).

100 METER HURDLES:
Harvey Duke (8th Grade): 15.64 - That is 29th out of 963 male athletes that competed in the 100 meter hurdles this season (7th and 8th grades).

SHOT PUT:
Parker Barnhill (8th Grade): 13.08m/42' 11" - That is 32nd out of 1,791 male athletes that competed in the shot put this season (7th and 8th grades).

HIGH JUMP:
Harvey Duke (8th Grade): 5' 7" - That is 25th out of 1,129 male athletes that competed in the high jump this season (7th and 8th grades).

POLE VAULT:
Luke Fisher (8th Grade): 2.70m/8' 10.25" - That is 52nd out of 451 male athletes that competed in the pole vault this season (7th and 8th grades).

Reece Denton (7th Grade): 2.45m/8' 0.50" - That is 99th out of 451 male athletes that competed in the pole vault this season (7th and 8th grades).

LONG JUMP:
Bennet Jackson (8th Grade): 5.58m/18' 3.75" - That is 47th out of 2,398 male athletes that competed in the long jump this season (7th and 8th grades).

TRIPLE JUMP:
Cooper Schilling (7th Grade): 11.32m/37' 1.75" - That is 46th out of 1,222 male athletes that competed in the triple jump this season (7th and 8th grades).

4x100 RELAY:
Logan Allen, Luke Fisher, Jaxson Fisk, Kruze Brown: 47.70 - That is 20th out of 457 teams across the state.

4x200 RELAY:
Logan Allen, Luke Fisher, Jaxson Fisk, Kruze Brown: 1:42.36 - That is 37th out of 414 teams across the state.

4x400 RELAY:
Harvey Duke, Logan Allen, Kruze Brown, Cooper Schilling: 3:54.20 - That is 11th out of 363 teams across the state.

EBHS Boys Track & Field STATE HONOR ROLL - Updated!

Use the link below to see which East Buchanan boys track and field athletes/relay teams have earned ALL-STATE recognition over the history of the program.

DETAILS:

1.] While the boys have a ways to go before touching a streak like the ladies do in the triple jump, Gabe Woodson's medal in the 110 meter hurdles is the fourth consecutive year that EBHS has medaled in that event.

2.] I mentioned in another post that the East Buchanan School District investing in a track and field facility in 2022 has paid dividends.

In addition to 17 of 38 schools records being set from 2022-to-NOW, the EBHS girls track and field team has earned 19 medals and the boys track and field team 28 medals, at the State Championships -- over the same time period! That's State Medals in 47 events in five years (11 of them GOLD)!

Also, over this time frame... EBHS boys track and field has medaled in 11 of the 19 events in track and field.

EBHS Girls Track & Field STATE HONOR ROLL - Updated!

1.) Brooklynn Johnson's second consecutive title in the shot put is the 11th overall State Meet Gold Medal in girls track and field history at EBHS.

2.) Kourtney Keling's third place finish in the triple jump ran a specific streak at EBHS to 12-Consecutive State Championships. the "streak" is: We have had a State Medalist in the girls triple jump every season since 2014 (Not counting 2020 - no meet due to COVID-19).

UPDATED: East Buchanan High School Track & Field School Records.

We had four school records set during the 2026 season.

Senior Brooklynn Johnson bettered her existing shot put record and earned her second consecutive State Title in that event. She also set a new mark in the discus after flirting with the record over the last three seasons.

Speaking of discus, Baker Thomas set a new school record in that event for the boys and also became the first EBHS boys discus thrower to medal at State for two consecutive years since Rob Wolfe (who did it three consecutive years) in 1987-1989.

The fourth and final record goes to pole vaulter Reece Dixon. Dixon bettered his own record from a year ago by a half-foot and qualified for State for the second consecutive season. Reece significantly helped reestablish East Buchanan's pole vault program that was dormant for numerous seasons until revived in 2022 with the building of our current track and field facility.

Speaking of 2022 and our recently constructed track and field facility... there are 38 possible school records in track and field when you combine the girls and boys... since 2022, East Buchanan track and field athletes have set 17 new school records (11-Boys, 6-Girls)!
