Connecticut Trail Rides Association

Connecticut Trail Rides Association C.T.R.A. was started as a family oriented equestrian trail riding group many years ago and still continues today.

The group holds trail rides in various sections of the state, has helped develop a network of bridle trails and promotes the sport of trail riding as well as the enjoyment of camping with equines.

Anyone else get this on their “Pages”…have gotten this message on at least 4 pages I’ve either created or manage. I’ve not posted anything on my pages that infringes on anything that I know of…is this just more weird crap from FB?

Thank you to everyone who sent me happy birthday wishes…I was so busy at Equine Affaire I just didn’t have time to respond to individual messages. So proud of the new addition to our equine family…little guy was a rock star! At only 6 months old, he attended Equine Affaire and was a mustang ambassador in 2 breed demos, appeared in the breed booth 3 times and on the last day he traveled to and from F barn to Stroh building led by me riding the motorized scooter. I’m hoping Alexa Wurszt will post pictures. Can’t wait until next years event with my mustangs and “mulestang”.

Horse people…y’all need to train your horses to be good about being handled in hand, especially when having farrier or veterinary work done. The practice of using sedatives so the animals can have trims or shoes done has gotten out of hand, especially with large draft horses. Y’all wonder why your farriers ghost you? Well if you’ve got a horse or several that need “dorm” EVERY SINGLE TIME they have their feet done, you’ll probably be one that’s going through farriers left and right. It’s no laughing matter to be stomped, kicked or knocked down when you’re trying to do your job AND the recovery from being injured takes time away from being able to earn a living. If you see yourself in this post…Do something about YOUR animals behavior before they injure someone! It’s NOT the veterinarians or farriers job to train your horse(s)…it’s YOUR job, no excuses and if YOU can’t train them then send them out to someone who can. And for those who say “if the farrier ever hits my horse” that’ll be the last time he/she does…you are probably the one who has the obnoxious, dangerous to be trimmed or shod horse, that is going to end up seriously injuring a hard working farrier just trying to do their job. Don’t like my post…then you are definitely someone who this post is aimed at…Im really PO’d right now because of a situation that happened this morning and it could have been prevented.
