Feature: 13th ➡️ 14th (DNF)

We made it out to the final race of the year at Moler Raceway Park with both cars. It was trick or trailer night for the kids and it was really cool event put on by the track where all kids get to come to the pits and trick or treat to all the race trailers.

Overall it was a pretty good night.

After the last race we had which didn’t get posted about we found some issues that the 3C car was having. After making some fixes the car was performing much better this time around. Still only the second time at this track for that car and learning but improvement was made. Logan was having a good run until he wasn’t. He was able to move forward in his heat race and had moved up to 10th. Another car had a mechanical failure and hit the wall. When that car came back down the track it collected him and ended his night on lap 3 of the feature which resulted in a did not finish and scored 14th.

With the 19H we had a little better luck. Went out for qualifying and the track was a little slick still and ended up mid pack. Started our heat race 5th and finished where we started. That put us starting the feature in 9th. The track had come back around to our setup and we were able to push forward. With a little luck on our side we were able to come out with a career best finish of 6th.

So it’s been awhile and we didn’t make a post before we went but we finally got a race in. After a new addition to our family early this year we were waiting to start our race season and then between weather and work it never worked out to get to the track.

But on Friday night we decided to try our luck at a new track for us. We loaded up and headed to Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, OH. We had a blast and the people were great. Driver was a little timid in qualifying as we had never turned any laps here. Ended up 12th out of 16 cars. This put us starting 6th in heat 2 and with a little bit more comfort with more laps and some lucky breaks finished in 3rd. Made some adjustments and went out for the feature to roll off 6th. Track had changed quite a bit from the heat and took some time to get used to. With more time and laps here hopefully we will get more comfortable. All in all ended up with an 8th place finish and drove the car on the trailer. Not bad for our first night of the season.

Race Night Recap for 8/24

After a long week at work we loaded up and headed to Lawrenceburg this past Saturday for Hornet Nationals. It was the biggest car count we have had there in a couple years with 29 cars signed in. Big shoutout to Randy Retallick and Boss Conger for helping Logan get the 3 car motor apart and back together from the blown head gasket. Unfortunately we couldn’t get the car to stay running and he ended up being a scratch for the night. With the 19H car we got our best qualifying time to date. The track was a different beast this weekend and it took some getting used to. We were able to transfer straight from our heat to the main as they were taking the top 5 and were able to avoid the B-main. In the feature our luck wasn’t as good and we pulled off with a broken left front axle just 2 laps in. Not the overall results we were looking for but all in all happy with the progress we have made this year.

Race Night Recap for 8/17

It was a night of ups and downs for our team this weekend. We ended up in the same group for the night. We actually got to qualify this go around. Track was really slick from the rain we had gotten. But we made it work. With our qualifying efforts we started our heat side by side. After the finish of the heat we found that we had blown a head gasket in the 3 car. Was going to try to start and stop the feature but when it was time to go the car wouldn’t start. 19 car we started the feature and it ran green to checkered. Had a track with a lot of character and found a line that worked for us and picked up a couple spots. All in all not a bad night. No damage to fix on the outside this time. But hopefully we can get the 3 motor fixed this week and ready to go for next weekends Hornet Nationals.

After a couple busy weeks and trying to get the cars fixed up from our last night of racing we are ready to get back to the track. We will have both cars this weekend and hope to have another solid night of racing. Big thanks to our grandpa for loaning us a truck for the weekend as one of ours was in a battle with a deer and lost. If you don’t already have plans come on out and support the local dirt track.

Due to damage from last weekends racing and not being able to make it to get parts for the repair because of work we will be taking this weekend off and getting both cars fixed. Hate that we couldn’t make it for this weekend but it’s all part of racing. We will post next week with our racing plans.

Race Night Recap for 7/13

What an exciting night of racing. Neither car was able to qualify due to late arrival so we were placed at the rear of our heat races. After some changes to the setup on the 19H from our last race the car handled a lot better and was able to move forward in the heat. Feature time came and the track was pretty rough. But we survived. Didn’t make it out unscathed and now have some repairs to make but that’s part of racing. For the 3 car as it was his first laps ever racing and them being competitive laps the goal was to make it through the night and that’s what he did. After a minor mechanical issue in his heat we got it repaired and back out for the feature. Super pumped for our team as we got our first ever Top 10 in the 19H as it was one of our goals this year and for the 3 to get a Top 10 in his first ever night of racing after being able to avoid all the chaos.

Here is the big news that we have been hinting at for a couple weeks. We have expanded to a two car team as my little brother has joined our team. We are now following the 19H of Justin Henze and the 3 of Logan Conger. We are currently unloaded at Lawrenceburg Speedway and getting ready for heat races. Look for a race results post in the coming days.

After a couple weeks of rain outs we are hoping that Mother Nature will give us a great day for racing this weekend. We have made a couple changes to our setup and are itching to test them out and see if we can improve our previous results. Full night of racing and if you don’t have any plans come on out and support your local dirt track.
