Do you think you might use High Ground someday? Like… ever?

Once a week. Once a month. When it’s raining. When your kids need to burn off steam. When you’re training for your next proj. When you want to try climbing for the first time. When you just want to see your friends. Or when you just want somewhere warm to get through another North Country winter.

That’s who this is for.

We’re collecting $40 Founding Member deposits to show our lenders that real people are interested in using High Ground once we open.

And to be very clear: This is not a donation. This is not a fundraiser. This is not a membership contract. Your deposit is fully refundable, no questions asked, or it goes toward your future membership if you join.

And as a thank-you for getting in early, Founding Members will receive 10% off their membership once we open, for as long as they keep it active.

So the deal is:
$40.
Fully refundable, no questions asked.
Applied to your membership if you join.
10% off your membership when we open.

A very real way to say, “Yes, I might use this place.”

And if you’re thinking you’d like to help in a bigger way, there’s more to explore. The link in our bio will take you to the website, where you can learn more about Founding Member deposits, the project, and other ways to help High Ground open.

Thank you for believing in this thing. We’re trying really hard to build it with care.

Big week over here!!
This coming Wednesday, we’re pitching High Ground at the Northern Spark Pitch Contest, hosted by the Coös Economic Development Corporation () and we’d love to see some friendly faces in the room. ☺️
It’s free to attend, and awards are announced that night!

Doors open at 5, and pitches start at 6 at the Rialto Theater () at 80 Main Street in Lancaster!

Come cheer us on!

We haven’t posted in a bit because apparently opening a climbing gym in an old church requires doing 700 things at once, and at least 37 of them involve a ladder.

Since we last checked in:
We hit 7,000 followers. WHAT!
We hosted a yard sale and met hundreds of our neighbors!
The Coös Economic Development Corporation () awarded us a grant which helped purchase paint for the bell tower.
We painted the bell tower (isn’t she shiny?!).
A steeplejack is coming in June for repairs/refinishing.

There is SO much more happening behind the scenes, but we just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone. 🫶🏼 For following, showing up, spreading the word, buying someone else’s old harp for the cause, and helping this weird & wonderful project keep moving.

More updates coming soon. We’ve got a lot to share!

Join us next Saturday, May 9th for a yard sale inspired by the 1985 Harvest Supper originally hosted by church members to raise funds for steeple repair. A while back we asked you if we should bring it back to which you all said YES! What better way to host our very first community gathering!

We’ve got a lot of great things to pass along (those are fake Oreos), and it’s the perfect chance to find something special while supporting community connection. We’ve been sorting through this abandoned church for months and we know lots of you are curious about what we found inside 👀

And just like back in 1985 (article on the last slide), we’ll be serving hot dogs, beans and lemonade

Come by, say hello, and meet some of the folks who are reviving this Gorham landmark. 13 Glen Road, can’t miss it 😉

Address

13 Glen Avenue
Gorham, NH
