The fourth of six new inductees into the Husky Hall of Fame, Class of 2026.
One of the early standout wrestlers in history, Stephen Valastro '09 made his mark as just the second USM wrestler to qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championship, earning his spot in 2007 by winning the NCAA Regional title at 133 lbs.
Valastro finished his outstanding career with a record of 87-24, winning nearly 50 percent of his matches by way of the fall with a dominant 40 pins. Competing primarily at 125 or 133 lbs, Valastro is a two-time All-Region wrestler, and in addition to his 2007 qualification he was chosen as a 2009 alternate. He was twice named a Pilgrim League All-Star.
The 40th Annual Husky Hall of Fame ceremony & banquet will be held on Sunday, September 27 (5:00 pm) at the Italian Heritage Center.
