Long post alert!!
So now that I have time to breath and sit down and reflect on this past weekend I must say that I am forever grateful for everyone, players, families, and just anyone who stopped on by to watch a game or two. I truly appreciate all the captains and their teams who were flexible with the schedule changes as we battled the weather. We had 13 teams battle it out for the Championship with Paul Parent's L7 Weenies team going back to back after beating Daniel Camara's SOOUT team who just ran out of steam and left it all on the field. The third place team was Eric Nelson's OCS team. Eric and his team stepped up to help me and my team get the fields back into playing shape both mornings, thank you guys again!! Eric was able to out last Wendy Gautreau-koprusak's TEAM RI in a back and forth game!! These 4 teams waited out the Sunday morning storm and then left everything on the field!! Thank you guys!!! Alex Ricker and Goonsquad, Joel Pinard and Top Notch Builders, LK Dustin and Heathens, Emily Thorndike and We The People, John Freese and Buzz Ink, Jay Baillargeon and Leeboy Carpentry, Chris Corliss and WTP, and Samantha Lepage and Cora Crew thank you all for coming over and supporting two great causes this past weekend!! Thank you to Nathan Corrigan at Corrigan Screen Printing for the trophies once again!!! Thank you to Gorham Parks - Rec for the use of both fields!!
To my field crew and to the people that will always be there to help I truly appreciated you more than you know!! Thank you to Joel Pinard who was my right hand man all weekend, I could not do this without you!! Thank you to Corey Balinas, Jaimie Pinard, Karyssa Lachance, Jay Baillargeon who were with me all weekend and helped with whatever I asked them to do. To all the other people who stepped up and helped with the field thank you, Eric Nelson, Serena Rene, Mathew Mason, Meagan Accardi and the Koprusak Family for helping me on Sunday morning, if I forgot anyone I am sorry!!
Lastly, I must thank you to my wife Miranda for allowing me to do this year in and year out. I think this is at least the 13th tournament she has allowed me to be put on and not once has she complained about me being going and busy all weekend. Without her understanding and support I would not be able to do this and give back to the community and help some people in
need!!
We gathered at the field this past weekend to help raise money for the Gorham Community Learning Center and Gemini Mcfarland.
Melinda Ann and her Gorham Community Learning Center crew just let me know that they raised $1458.69 on Saturday!!!! Thank you all who helped contribute to that amount by buying food or 50/50 tickets!!
Gemini Mcfarland and Family will be given the proceeds from the softball tournament as she works to recover from a very unfortunate and rare condition!! I will be in touch with Jessica Edward Mcfarland Jr. over the next couple days to come up with a way to get them the funds from the tournament!!
Thank you all once again for a great weekend.
