Very sad news to all of us who knew and loved Judy.
January 31, 1945 - August 7, 2026
Judy Merryman Harding, 81, the youngest of ten children of Robert Earl and Murnie Shelton Merryman of King George passed away Aug. 7, 2026.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Merryman; sisters, Helen Green, Ruth Bowie and Alice Houser; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Ray L. Harding, her loving parents, her brothers, Elmer, Edward and John Franklin Merryman and her sisters, Betty Ballard and Shirley Jewell.
She retired from NSWC. Dahlgren in 1994 after 30 years of service. She was well known for her dedication and skill for her dedication and skill for managing s***t shoots throughout Virginia and was inducted into the VA S***t Shooting Hall of Fame in 2017. She also served 2 years as Vice President of the Virginia Association.
She loved watching and taking pictures of the wildlife that passed through her small farm in King George—the deer, turkeys, rabbits, squirrels, eagles, osprey, groundhogs and birds., She also loved to read, do jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, cryptograms and challenger sudoku.
There will be no service. Judy asked that she be cremated and her ashes be spread with her husband’s ashes over the cemetery of her beloved Brittany pups on her land in King George.
