🔢 What does “P / 16” mean?

“P” or “16” can be used as coded slang referring to a pimp, with P being the 16th letter of the alphabet. 🚨📱

Traffickers may use coded words, numbers, and symbols in texts, captions, and conversations to communicate without directly saying what they mean. 👀🔐

🧠 Knowing the language can help us better understand what we’re seeing and hearing.

🚨 45 seconds. That's all it took.

When I went undercover, within just 45 seconds, a man pulled up to me. He knew exactly where to go, what to look for, and what he was there to do. 🚗👀

That moment showed me just how established the demand for commercial s*x really is. Buyers don't always stumble into these situations, many know where to look and what the signs are. 💰🚩

This is why we cannot talk about human trafficking without talking about demand. As long as people are willing to buy access to another person, traffickers have an incentive to exploit victims. 💔

🚨 Sometimes identifying the trafficker starts with identifying the victim.

But getting a victim to identify the person controlling them isn't always easy. Traffickers often spend months or even years conditioning victims not to trust law enforcement. 🧠

They may be told police are the enemy 👮‍♀️, no one will believe them, they'll get in trouble, or something terrible will happen if they cooperate. 😨

So officers may encounter victims who are silent 🤐, angry, fearful, or even defending their trafficker.

That doesn't mean they aren't victims; it can show just how powerful the manipulation has become. 💔

This is why properly trained law enforcement matters. 👮‍♂️💙 Recognizing what's happening beneath the surface and knowing how to build trust can help uncover the trafficker behind the victim.

💰 What does “trick” mean?

In trafficking slang, a “trick” refers to a buyer: someone paying for commercial s*x. 🚨

You may hear the term casually in conversations, music, or online 📱🎵, but that language can minimize what’s actually happening.

👀 Buyers are part of the demand. And without demand, there is no market for exploitation.

This is episode 🔟 of the series I created to define the language of trafficking. Check out the other terms defined on my profile.

🚨 Human Trafficking and Human Smuggling are NOT the same thing.

These terms are often used interchangeably, but they describe two very different crimes.

🚚 Human Smuggling is a crime against the border/state. It involves moving a person from Point A to Point B, and the transportation itself is the primary objective.

⛓️ Human Trafficking is a crime against a person. The goal is exploitation. Traffickers use force, fraud, or coercion to exploit victims for profit through commercial s*x or labor.

Understanding the difference matters because misconceptions can cause victims to be overlooked.
Human trafficking isn't about transportation; it's about control, manipulation, and exploitation.

🛡️ The more we understand how traffickers operate, especially online, the better we can protect the next generation.

✈️ “If you see something, say something.” 👀

We’ve all heard it in airports. If you notice an unattended bag or suspicious activity, you’re encouraged to report it. Not because you know for certain something is wrong… but because it’s better to speak up than stay silent. 🚨

The same mindset should apply to human trafficking. 🛑

If something doesn’t seem right…
🚩 A young person being controlled by someone else.
🚩 Someone who appears fearful or unable to speak for themselves. 😟
🚩 Unusual interactions that raise concern.
Don’t ignore your instincts. ⚠️

You don’t have to be an expert. You don’t have to investigate. But you can be aware, ask questions when appropriate, and report concerns to the proper authorities when something doesn’t feel right. 📞

Awareness has the power to save lives. 💡 Silence only helps traffickers continue operating in plain sight. 🕶️

👇 Think you know the signs? Take my short S*x Trafficking Awareness Quiz linked in my bio and test your knowledge. Follow me....You might be surprised by what you learn, and it could help you recognize the warning signs when they matter most. 💙✨

🟦 What does “square” mean in trafficking slang?

A “square” is someone outside of “the life”, a civilian or outsider who doesn’t know or participate in the subculture.

🚨 Trafficking has its own terminology, and understanding that language can help us better recognize the dynamics happening beneath the surface. 👀🧠

The more we know, the more we understand. 💙 This is Episode 9. Visit my profile to see other language of trafficking terms already defined.

Are you a truth teller? 👇

Three signs that hit different when you’ve lived them:

1️⃣ You make people uncomfortable without even trying. One honest question and the room goes quiet. You say the obvious thing everyone’s already thinking, and somehow you’re the problem.

2️⃣ You’ve lost relationships just for being honest. Not rude. Not cruel. Just honest. People say they want the truth — until it threatens their identity, their excuses, their habits. Then they protect the lie, and you pay the price for saying it out loud.

3️⃣ You see things coming — years before anyone else does. The pattern. The manipulation. The instability. You know where it’s headed long before the outcome ever lands.

The hardest part isn’t seeing it. It’s watching people ignore the warning... and then watching it happen anyway.

👇 How many times have you known something was going wrong and nobody listened? Tell me below.

👉🏻 What is it I’m telling you the truth about?

Traffickers don't just control victims individually. They engineer relationships between them.

"Wife-in-law" is what victims under the same trafficker are sometimes made to call each other ‚ language borrowed from marriage to describe a relationship that's forced, ranked, and often competitive by design.

If you hear this term, it's a signal of something organized, not an isolated situation, but a group under one person's control.
