The SC&G Recreation Association is working to restore and improve the Stewartsville Recreation Fields for the families and children in our community.
Unfortunately, the fields and surrounding facilities have gone without proper maintenance for many years. As a result, there are growing safety concerns affecting the children who practice and play games there. Our association has reached out to Bedford County parks and recreation seeking assistance with maintaining the property, but we have been unable to secure the support needed.
For many members of our community, the Stewartsville fields hold cherished memories. They were once a place where families gathered for baseball games, carnivals, concession stands, and community events. Our goal is to bring that sense of community back while creating a safe, welcoming environment for the next generation.
To help make this possible, we are hosting a Family Movie Night fundraiser with local vendors. Every dollar raised will go toward restoring the fields and purchasing the equipment and supplies needed to improve the property.
We are also seeking donations of materials and equipment, including lumber to repair decks and steps, fill dirt and gravel for field maintenance, and lawn care equipment to help maintain the grounds. Financial donations of any size are also greatly appreciated!!
We would be incredibly grateful if the community could share this post or our local news outlet would consider sharing our story with the community. Raising awareness could help us connect with individuals, businesses, and organizations willing to donate materials, equipment, services, or financial support. Together, we can restore the Stewartsville fields and provide a safe place for children and families to enjoy youth sports and community events for years to come.
