The Kayla O'Mara Memorial Road Race is held annually on the first Saturday of August. Events include: 5k Run/Walk, 5k Competitive Walk, 1/2 mile fun run, and a virtual 5k for those who can't join us in person.

Do we have any series competitors coming back this year? We are race # 7 in the Michigan Runner News Race Series! Look for Carter Sherline behind the lens documenting the day. 📸

Next up in the 2026 Michigan Runner Race Series (MRRS) is Event #7, this Saturday, 1 August, Kayla O’Mara Memorial 5k. The 6 events we have down so far for the year are Event #1 Super Bowl 5k – Lansing, Event #2 Corktown Races 5k, Event #3 Martian Invasion of Races 10k, Event #4 Amway River Bank Run 25k, Event #5 Dexter-Ann Arbor Half-Marathon, & Event #6 Volksläufe 10k. The rest of the schedule for the year is 22 August Crim Festival of Races 10mi, Sunday 20 September LMCU Bridge Run 10mi (the RRCA National Championship for that distance, as the DxA2 Half was.), Saturday 10 October Sandhill Crane All-Trail Half-Marathon (Tentative), & Sunday 8 November Roseville Big Bird Run (Tentative). The Dicken Run, which has been the October event for the past few years, will not be held in 2026. That makes 11 events for 2026. I am still working on getting the website, https://michiganrunnerraceseries.com, with the calendar & standings under control so participants will know where they stand. MRRS participant Larry Sak has offered me assistance getting the standings straight so that should be soon. Please pass word around of this announcement
