THIS IS A GAME LEAGUE. TEAMS TRAVEL AND PLAY TOURNAMENT STYLE GAMES ON SATURDAYS. GAMES WILL BE PLAYED IN WENDELL, BUHL, FILER, MURTAUGH, VALLEY, HAGERMAN. SEASON IS SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER. COST IS 40.00. VOLLEYBALL IS FOR GRADES 3-6.

Today is a sad day for basketball. Kobe has went to play in heaven. As a basketball lover. Kobe has done so much for the game. The Academy he founded and the tireless hours devoted to the youth game are much respected. His support for the women’s game is matched by none. He was my favorite player on my favorite team. But I respect him more for the father he was and his support for his daughters. An Icon for sure. He will be deeply missed.

3rd to 6th grade boys basketball work outs Monday Wednesday at 6:45 Thursday at 5:30.
Girls 3rd to 6th work outs Thursday 6:45 and Friday 5:30.

3rd grade to 6th grade combined boys basketball workouts Monday Nov. 4th 5pm, Wed. Nov 6th 5pm, Thurs. Nov 7th 5pm. Workouts will be about an hour and 30 minutes. Led by me.

Tryouts for GEB Tryouts for 7th and 8th grade boys will be Thursday at 7 pm Friday at 3pm and Saturday at noon at the Gooding rec gym.

GEB is a step up from rec basketball. We work with all kids who want to play from grades 3 to 8. Kids who don't make the GEB teams will be placed on rec teams. The rec basketball fees are 3rd & 4th grades is 35.00 +7 if your child does not have a GRD game jersey 5th and 6th grades is the same. GEB fees have not been set yet but will be more and set soon. My goal for GEB and GRD is to get as much court time and game time as possible. Our program has room for all boys and girls who want to play.
GEB and GRD teams all run the same offense and we will teach the game and fundamentals the same way. The offense is the read and react. Defense we play is man to man we press and get pressed. GEB is played by high school rules with a few exceptions and GRD is played with modified rules such as no pressing half court defending, no double teams and other modifications. GEB plays their games in tournaments held by Southern Idaho Elite Basketball on Saturdays from November to March. GRD plays games in the Magic Valley Rec League on Saturdays from Jan to Feb. GEB tournaments are mainly in Gooding. GRD games are in Gooding and surounding areas like Filer, Buhl, Wendell. Last year we had about 100 kids in GEB and 30 kids in GRD. Questions please call me. Please don't be fooled by our name Gooding Elite Basketball everyone is welcome. We hope to some day have our skill level match our name but for now we just want to teach the game and compete. GRD is Gooding Rec. District Basketball and our goals are the same. I would say the difference to players would be more games possibly for GEB than GRD and that the more dedicated athlete would be a GEB player and GRD would be the player who is not sure about basketball or has other interests during the same time. I want to assure everyone there will be a spot for you. If you start at GRD and get moved to GEB and you want to do this you would just pay the fee. With that said we will not move a player from GRD until their season is complete and the child wants to keep playing and the parents are on board with that.
