Santa Barbara Stingrays Youth Rugby Club

Santa Barbara Stingrays would like to invite boys and girls 18 and under to play rugby! Come out to practice and see the kids in action for yourself!

Rugby is the fastest growing team sport in America and is now accessible to the youngsters of our community. It is the latest sport to be admitted into the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. The Santa Barbara Rugby Academy in conjunction with the Grunions Rugby Football Club is sponsoring the development of youth teams in the Santa Barbara region. We invite all children 10-18 years of age to join us and learn about this exciting world renowned sport. The team will be entered into the Southern California Youth Rugby League.

A big one for the kids. Our last match of the season. The boys and girls will be in for a tough one. Ventura and Kern will come to visit and will bring their best. The last match will be met with celebrations as well. After the matches we will be grilling and hanging out some awards. Drinks and food for all ages will be shared and we will rejoice the season had. Please come one come all and celebrate the great achievement these kids have put on. Lets cheer them on the pitch and lets cheer them off the pitch. The coaches couldn't be more proud. We hope to see you out there.

THIS SATURDAY the youth are AWAY... we head down to Ventura for an exciting day of Rugby. Kern will make a special appearance and the three teams will have round robin matches combining youth for some entertaining matches. The teams need your support head down and cheer them on! Saturday 2/7, will be a rugby filled day. The stingrays will have an interal scrimage/practice before our local Mermaids face off against Fullerton and the Grunions go up against mighty Belmont Shore. Come on out and enjoy a good run around then stay for food, drinks, and some awesome Rugby. If you cant make it to Elings, try to catch UCSB mens and womens rugby at the PIT UCSB. Hope to see you all out in support.

Are you ready for the Stingrays first match!!! Match day VS the Venturea Orcas. Saturday Jan 31st at Elings Park, 900am. We hope.you all come out and cheer on our youth. They are all eager to show what they have learned and go out there and gove it their all. It will be a fun filled day for all. Good luck to both teams!

The Santa Barbara Stingrays are looking for all kids, boys and girls, from under 8 to under 18. There is NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED. Practice is Tuesdays and Thursdays and game days on Saturday. Rugby is a sport that is all accommodating, any size any age, rugby will take you in. We would love to have you out to play, there are no try outs. We hope you all had a wonderful break and Holiday. We are back today, practice staring at 4pm. We need all you kids to start getting registered with the club and USA rugby. Please refer to the email sent out December 1st. Coach Commins will be away the month of December but Clint Borle and Jay Gordon will be there to help and run practices. We hope to see you all there and hopefully with more kids. Please invite one to two friends, no experience needed, as we continue to grow the team.
