So true...so please think about you as you read and then act on it!
Sir Roger Bannister - who, on May 6, 1954, became the first person to break 4 minutes for the mile. At the time, some considered this an impossible task but not to Sir Roger. To him, it seemed like a challenging goal that was no match for the human spirit.
And you know what? He was right. Not just because he was able to break the magical 4 minute barrier himself but because he opened the floodgates. Quickly after he broke 4 minutes, others did and I've always felt this was the best example of how too often we defer to self (or societal) limits.
Who's to say what one can and cannot do? Just go to the finish line of any marathon and you'll see people doing something they thought impossible just a few months earlier.
Sir Roger showed the way. Hold firm to your goals. Work toward them and never, ever put limits on yourself.
Today, run a mile for Sir Roger. Run a mile to celebrate that greatness is in all of us. Run a mile to confirm in your mind that you can do greater things than you may think possible right now.
