"New advanced training facility planned in Jonesboro

JONESBORO — Members of law enforcement, military and private sector security were on hand May 22 as Proventus LLC introduced plans for a new training facility in Jonesboro; as well as provided demonstrations of advanced, high-intensity augmented reality and virtual reality training technology, at an event hosted by Proventus, TI Training and AUFIRE at the Red Wolf Convention Center in Jonesboro.

Proventus plans to build the 37,000-square-foot training facility, which will serve clients and trainees from across the United States.

This event enabled guests to see and learn how these technologies can effectively enhance the training and readiness of individuals who may face life-threatening situations as TI Training and AUFIRE’s Pain/Injury Simulation System taught law

Jonesboro Mayor Harold Copenhaven said that they’ve been working on the project just under two years and safety has been their number one goal.

“It originally started as a regional training facility and then it evolved into ‘what can we do for our businesses and our industries?’ and this is to the point of where we are now,” Copenhaver said. “It’s a unique facility. There’s none like it in the United States.”..."
