Here’s a question from a Friend of the Lake:

When shopping for home insurance- no one will cover the boathouse on water because it’s not connected to our property directly as it is attached to the leaseback. I know everyone out there isn’t living on a prayer that nothing happens to their boat slips… Any insight would be phenomenal and so appreciated!!!

I was told we could add it as “ other structure “ but if we had a claim/ the insurance company would research and if they see the walk way isn’t attached to your private property- they deny the claim.

Anyone have thoughts on this - I personally thought we had coverage for our boathouse?

Finally got some signs made (I have 2 out on docks) and have it up on lakehouse.com and zillow too. If you know anyone wanting a move in ready house on this wonderful lake, share the word. We are moving just a few doors down to another house so we'll be neighbors!
