Shout out to C.R. Macchi from our Rise Golden studio!
βI started my yoga practice several years ago. At the time, I was also running several days a week and appreciated the slower pace of the intentional, strength-building moves. Every pose was difficult and painful at that time, but I soon learned to breathe through them. When my running resulted in knee and neck injuries requiring medical procedures, I paused my yoga practice, hoping to simply recover. After an extended break, I returned to my mat with a new perspective after my sonβs death. My intention became, βI do this because he cannot.β My practice moved beyond the physical to become a centering, whole-body experience. Since moving to Golden last year, I have so appreciated the Rise community and the wonderful instructors who nurture our community of yogis. Each of them supports lives of intention, focus, and a very meaningful connection with ourselves and others. Yin has taught me to face my natural resistance with intentional moves, breath, then release β I am learning that some things are hard not because of the inherent nature of the movement but because my body and mind unconsciously resist it.β
We love you, C.R. - we are so grateful to have you as a part of our Rise yoga family!
