Do you have to get the club in front? I don’t think so, and if you’ve been following along, you’ll know I’ve used this boat and water skier analogy many times before.
With the clubhead and center of mass staying to the trail side, you’ll have more permission (and freedom) to unwind, create more angles, and swing the club more like you would a baseball bat, axe, hockey stick, tennis racket, etc.
Should the hands and arms also be left way behind? Not in my opinion, but a little stretch in transition can be a great dynamic and aid in good sequence. The arms getting trapped though can create issues. This is a key distinction between the club and the arms.
I’m not sure Justin Rose has always felt this as he’s had numerous feels throughout his career, but I like the thoughts here. 👊
