How often do you get the chance to be up close and personal on the mats? We mic’d up our officials at Division 2 State Champs and we caught some great action. 👀

NHWOA President Rick Ross and VP Ben Tessier have been a great duo for years, they work great together both on and off the mat, and they like to have some fun when they’re out there. 🤝🤼

Meet the official! ➡️ Louis Ferullo

With 39 years with NHWOA, Lou has become our esteemed rules interpreter.

From wrestling at Rutherford HS to UNH and the NCAA D1 National Tournament, to decades of officiating across New England, Louis has given a lifetime to the sport. A New England Hall of Fame inductee, coach, mentor, and true ambassador for wrestling.

Off the mat, he enjoys golf and recently celebrated 40 years of marriage with his wife, Kris — a journey that started through wrestling.

We are proud to have him on our team! 🤼👏

Meet the ref ➡️

Joe Audet has been part of the New Hampshire Wrestling Officials Association for 13 years, though his connection to wrestling goes back much further. After wrestling in high school and briefly in college, Joe began refereeing and returned to the mat during the 1995–96 season in Massachusetts, where he still officiates today.

For Joe, the most meaningful part of officiating has been the relationships built with fellow officials and coaches along the way.

Originally from Cambridge, Joe started wrestling in the 1983–84 season. What began with some hesitation quickly turned into a lifelong passion for the sport.

When he’s not on the mat, Joe enjoys scuba diving, exploring Sculptured Rocks Natural Area near Newfound Lake, and spending time in Portsmouth.
