Staunton Varsity Bulldogs Fight Back In Loss To Althoff Catholic Varsity Crusaders

Despite a 5-run deficit in the first inning, Staunton Varsity Bulldogs almost came all the way back, eventually falling 5-3 to Althoff Catholic Varsity Crusaders on Monday. Staunton Varsity Bulldogs closed the gap by scoring on a hit by pitch, a single, and a double.
Althoff Catholic Varsity Crusaders jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Po***ck singled, scoring one run, Hesse was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Birdsong singled, scoring one run, and Winkeler singled, scoring two runs.
Drake Billings pitched five and one-third innings in relief for Staunton Varsity Bulldogs. The pitcher surrendered four hits and zero runs while, striking out two and walking none. Reese Bohlen took the loss for Staunton Varsity Bulldogs. The starting pitcher went two-thirds of an inning, giving up five runs on four hits, striking out none and walking three.
