I’d like to thank the Seniors. You guys left your mark on these underclassmen. You’ve work hard and showed them how to be leaders. With that we would like to wish you the best of luck to you guys.

Staunton Varsity Bulldogs Fight Back In Loss To Althoff Catholic Varsity Crusaders

Despite a 5-run deficit in the first inning, Staunton Varsity Bulldogs almost came all the way back, eventually falling 5-3 to Althoff Catholic Varsity Crusaders on Monday. Staunton Varsity Bulldogs closed the gap by scoring on a hit by pitch, a single, and a double.

Althoff Catholic Varsity Crusaders jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Po***ck singled, scoring one run, Hesse was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Birdsong singled, scoring one run, and Winkeler singled, scoring two runs.

Drake Billings pitched five and one-third innings in relief for Staunton Varsity Bulldogs. The pitcher surrendered four hits and zero runs while, striking out two and walking none. Reese Bohlen took the loss for Staunton Varsity Bulldogs. The starting pitcher went two-thirds of an inning, giving up five runs on four hits, striking out none and walking three. Dale Parker stepped on the mound first for Althoff Catholic Varsity Crusaders. The pitcher surrendered five hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking one.

Luke Goldasich, Zander Machota, Billings, Carter Legendre, Aiden Saracco, Cale Dugger, and Matthew Overby each collected one hit for Staunton Varsity Bulldogs. Saracco and Dugger each drove in one run for Staunton Varsity Bulldogs.

Winkeler, the number nine hitter for Althoff Catholic Varsity Crusaders, led the way with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Winkeler, Po***ck, and Birdsong each collected two hits for Althoff Catholic Varsity Crusaders. Po***ck and Birdsong each stole multiple bases for Althoff Catholic Varsity Crusaders. Althoff Catholic Varsity Crusaders stole four bases in the game.

Staunton Varsity Bulldogs Loses Despite Out Hitting PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central

Staunton Varsity Bulldogs fell 7-4 to PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central on Saturday despite out-hitting them 13 to 11. Luke Goldasich led Staunton Varsity Bulldogs with three hits.

PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central got on the board in the top of the second inning after Kareick singled down the left field line, Strenstarter was struck by a pitch, Johnson was struck by a pitch, Kareick scored after tagging up, and Davis singled to the left side of the infield, each scoring one run.

PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI singles by Kareick and Johnson.

Bryce Coalson pitched six innings in relief for Staunton Varsity Bulldogs. The righty allowed eight hits and two runs while, striking out four and walking none. Luke Moore started the game for Staunton Varsity Bulldogs. The righty gave up three hits and five runs over one inning, striking out none and walking two. Hoagland started on the bump for PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central. The hurler gave up eight hits and two runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking one.

Staunton Varsity Bulldogs accumulated 13 hits in the game. Reese Bohlen went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Coalson collected two hits for Staunton Varsity Bulldogs in four at bats. Staunton Varsity Bulldogs turned one double play in the game. Staunton Varsity Bulldogs didn't commit a single error in the field. Zander Machota had the most chances in the field with six.

PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central piled up 11 hits in the game. Morse and Kareick each collected two hits for PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central. Kareick and Johnson each drove in two runs for PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central. Karrick and Johnson each stole multiple bases for PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central. PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central stole seven bases in the game. PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central turned two double plays in the game.

Staunton Varsity Bulldogs Defeat Carrollton Behind Strong Performance From Braylen Brown

Braylen Brown struck out 13 batters as the starting pitcher led Staunton Varsity Bulldogs past Carrollton 10-0 on Saturday. Brown gave up zero hits and zero runs over six innings while walking none.

Staunton Varsity Bulldogs won thanks in part to six runs in the sixth inning. Reese Bohlen singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Aiden Saracco singled, scoring one run, and Zander Machota singled, scoring two runs.

Staunton Varsity Bulldogs got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Cale Dugger singled, scoring one run, Logan Tuetken singled, scoring two runs, and Bohlen doubled, scoring one run.

Rhoades took the loss for Carrollton. The starter went four innings, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out two and walking three.

Staunton Varsity Bulldogs tallied 10 hits in the game. Bohlen, Drake Billings, Saracco, and Dugger each collected two hits for Staunton Varsity Bulldogs. Bohlen and Tuetken were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Staunton Varsity Bulldogs.

Staunton Varsity Bulldogs welcome PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central on Saturday for their next game.
