With Koshukai week came promotions for two of our black belts!

The first is Bob Sullivan, who tested in front of the Shinjos and earned his 4th degree black belt. The second is none other than Mr Spoon! The day before the test, Shinjo Sensei watched Mr Spoon’s kata and told him he was testing. It was a surprise to all of us, including him!

They’re great inspirations as we get close to August testing week here at the dojo!

From July 13th-18th, a group of us went up to Alberta, Canada for Koshukai, hosted by Desa School of Karate! Koshukai is a week of training where we had the opportunity to learn directly from Grand Master Kiyohide Shinjo, Master Narahiro Shinjo, and many other amazing Senseis. It was awesome to train with our Kenyukai community and learn from so many great martial artists. We are so thankful for this opportunity!

It was a busy week here at the dojo!

First the Summer Bash! Then BOTH dojos had the opportunity to work at local schools for their Field Days.

Thank you to Beeman Elementary School and Manchester Essex Regional School District for including us at your annual field day. It was truly a pleasure to get to work with your students!

Thank you so much for everyone who came to our Summer Bash over the weekend. We raised a ton of money for a family battling ALS. We could not have done it without you guys!

It was the first time in 3 years that we had gorgeous weather for our event! Our dojo was so pleased to have spent such a lovely day with our community.

We will be announcing the winners of the raffle later this afternoon. Stay tuned!

Hello NSKA families!

We are so excited to announce that our annual Summer Bash is next week! Join us on Saturday, June 13th from 10:00 am -2:00 pm for a day of games, board breaking, ice cream, a dunk tank, raffles, and more. All profits from this year’s Summer Bash will go towards supporting families with their fight with ALS.

We are selling tickets for the raffle during classes for a choice of THREE awesome prizes: a custom belt rack, a karate birthday party, and a pair of sai.

At the end of the Bash, three tickets will be drawn and winners will choose their prizes in the order in which they were drawn.

The ticket prices are:

1 ticket for $5

5 tickets for $20

12 tickets for $40

The tickets can be purchased at the "front desk" (the shoe rack ;) ) with cash or Venmo. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase at the Summer Bash. Thank you all, and please let us know if you have any questions!
