We are a little behind on getting everything put together. Coaches should receive rosters tomorrow with the first couple practice dates. They should contact their teams by the end of the week.

Welcome home girls! Gloucester may not have brought home the championship but our players, coaches and parents did bring home the Sportsmanship award. This is awarded to the team and parents who demonstrated the best sportsmanship to umpires, other teams, and tournament directors and workers. Great job to you all for representing Gloucester well!

2 things….first, we are down to 10 hours for guaranteed spots on a fall ball team. I know I’ll get that message tomorrow saying someone missed signup this past this weekend. My response may be, you missed them the past 4 weeks and now it’s too late.

Second, most of our 12u softball World Series team will be arriving home from Alabama around 7:30 this evening. Many are traveling in the same vehicle and are coming to our fields first. I would love to see people out there welcoming them back and showing our support. Please pass this along and try to get as many people out there as possible. Everyone should meet at the field at 7:30. I will update the time if it will be much later.

Update: The girls played hard but came up a little short. We will play again at 7:00 against Shallowater, Texas.

Our 12u softball team finished up their pool play at the World Series on Wednesday. They’ve played hard in some extreme heat and they now move into double elimination bracket play. Their first game today is at 11:00 a.m. against Olton, Texas, who they played earlier in the tournament and the game ended in a tie. With a win they will play again at 3:00 p.m., and if they lose they would play again at 7:00 p.m. Good luck girls!

The Fall 2026 baseball and softball registration is open until August 2, 2026. Every player signed up prior to August 2 will be placed on a team. Late registrations will only be accepted in age groups still requiring players to fill out that age group's teams. Please sign up early to avoid missing the signups and possibly missing the season. The registration link is at the top of the page.

COST

The cost for fall ball will be $65 until August 2, 2026. There is no family discount for fall ball. If we have spots available after the August 2, 2026 deadline, late registration will cost $85 per player.

AGE REQUIREMENTS

The age requirement for spring are your child must be born between April 30, 2021, and May 1, 2011. Below is a list of the leagues by age. We do not move players up to an older league until they meet the age requirements for that league.

Baseball:
Rookie - 6 through 8 years old (as of May 1, 2027)
Minor - 9 and 10 years old (as of May 1, 2027)
Major - 11 and 12 years old (as of May 1, 2027)
Babe Ruth 13-16 - 13 through 16 years old (as of May 1, 2027)

Softball:
8U - 6 through 8 years old (as of August 31, 2026)
10U - 9 and 10 years old (as of August 31, 2026)
12U - 11 and 12 years old (as of August 31, 2026)
16U - 13 through 16 years old (as of August 31, 2026)

* The August 31 date is a new deadline. If a player was scheduled to move to the next age group this season, we will still move them up on the old deadline date. Softball age groups could vary slightly depending on the number of players we have signed up.

SEASON

Practices will most likely begin approximately August 26, 2026. The season will end no later than October 24, 2026. During the season, a typical week will consist of two practice and/or games each week, Monday through Saturday. The teams' practices and games will be on different night each week. There is no reason to request practices on certain nights or to avoid practices on certain nights as the practice and game days will change each week. We will not know what the schedule will look like until the registration closes and we determine how many teams we have in each age group. We will hope to have schedules completed around the middle of August.

TEAM PLACEMENT

Unlike spring, we do not have a draft for teams in the fall. Players are separated on teams by a random draw. We will not guarantee any requests for players to be placed on a certain team or with specific players and coaches. The only players we will ensure are placed on the same team are siblings that will play in the same age group. If you have siblings in the same age group, please leave a comment on your registration (especially if the siblings have different last names) or contact Brian so we can ensure it happens. Coaches should contact their teams no later than August 23. If you have not heard from a coach by August 23, please contact Brian at 804-815-7708.

COACHES

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO HELP COACH. We understand everyone is busy, but without volunteers to help coach we do not have a league. We estimate we will need 100 coaches for fall. If you are willing to help, please sign up. The link to the registration site is at the top of this page. We do not separate coaches from their child, so you will be helping with your child's team. Please do not wait to see if we need help, if you can help...sign up! Even if you have coached with us previously, you MUST sign up again for the fall season. This is the only way we know that you are still able to coach. Once you've signed up, you will get an email and/or text from Brian in early August with information about the coach's meetings and required background checks and training. If you have any questions, please contact Brian at 804-815-7708.

EQUIPMENT

The league will provide the players with their uniform shirt, hat (baseball only), belt, and socks. The players will be responsible for their own baseball or softball pants (for baseball these must be SOLID white pants with beltloops and for softball they must be SOLID black pants with beltloops). The length of the pants does not matter, knees or ankles). Each player must also have their own glove, batting helmet (softball batting helmets must have a face mask), and cleats. Softball players are also required to have a fielder's mask (this is a separate mask from the batting helmet).

If you are considering purchasing a bat for your child, baseball bats for ages 12 years old and younger must be labeled USA baseball (do not confuse this with USSSA). Baseball bats for ages 13 and older must be labeled USA baseball or BBCOR. Softball bats for all ages must be labeled either Official Softball or Official Fastpitch bat.

PLAYING FIELDS

Most practices and games will take place at our field located at: 6971 George Washington Memorial Highway, Gloucester, Virginia 23061. The entrance is located behind Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Taco Bell.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

We will post more information once the registration is over. We will also email information. These emails go through the Sports Engine website so for some people they may end up in your spam or junk folder. When we send emails, we will post on our page so you can look for the email. If there are any questions regarding registration or the season, please contact Brian through Facebook or text 804-815-7708. If you do not hear back from him immediately, please be patient, he will contact you.
