A moment for our 8th grade baseball and softball players 💙💛

A group of athletes that have spent years putting in the work and somewhere between the long practices, games, wins and losses these kids grew up.

We’re proud of each and every one of you and can’t wait to see what you do next as you head into high school this Fall. Keep working, keep showing up, keep having fun and keep loving the game.

Peasley softball ends season on a win streak.

Peasley softball closed the season on a win streak thanks to an 18-3 home field win over Berkeley Middle School.

Peasley fell behind by two runs early, however all three of their 8th grade players helped rally the team to a victory. Emma Crist was the first to get on base in the bottom of the first, stealing two bases and scoring the team’s first run. Shyann Sanford had a key hit later in the game before scoring a run. Christy Brewer continued her outstanding season performance at the plate going 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

7th grader Ki’mora Ward pitched a gem. She threw a complete game, striking out 4 and holding Berkeley to only 3 runs. Ki’mora helped herself at the plate going 2 for 2 with 4 RBIs and two walks. She also stole multiple bases and managed to score three runs.

7th grader Payton Edwards, who holds one of the highest batting averages on the team wasn’t pitched to much, drawing 3 walks. However, she made Berkeley pay by stealing multiple bases and scoring 3 runs.

Peasley was able to get their bats going in one of their best hitting performances of the year. 6th grader Bella Rice was 2 for 2 with 4 RBIs and one walk. She also scored two runs. 7th grader Sara Linaweaver was 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs after hitting a line drive shot to right field earning a double. She also walked and scored a run. 7th grader Shelby Clements was also 1 for 2 with 3 RBIs earning her own double. She also walked and scored a run.

Finally, there were several key defense plays in the field. Sara Linaweaver started the game at first base. On one close play, Sara completed a full split before scooping a throw for an out. Her highlight reel night continued when she was moved to shortstop, making multiple key putouts. Bella Rice came off the bench to play first base after Sara was moved to shortstop. Bella recorded all three outs in the second inning, snagging a line shot and doubling up a base runner. She also made a running grab on a difficult pop up to close the inning. 7th grade catcher Ryleigh Sparrer continued to be a force behind the plate.

After the game, 8th grade players: Emma Crist, Shyann Sanford, and Christi Brewer were recognized for their accomplishments as family and friends took the field to accompany their favorite players.

The coaching staff wishes to thank the Peasley softball family for all their effort and support. The team overcame adversity to end the season on a very positive note. Our players have become a family and we wish to thank our 8th grade players for their leadership and the culture they set.

To the current 5th grade class and rising Peasley Middle students, we hope to see you next season. Our team is ready to make strides and a lot of noise in 2027.
