Here's a speed run through the obstacles and mud we had on hand at Hog Hollow February 8, 2025. Where2Wheel parks has off-road events that anyone can sign up and attend, we'd love to see you out there, it's a lot of fun to get off the road and get 4 wheels in the mud.

Yorktown after an unusual snow event Feb 2025. Snow totals for the area were 4-6" with less along the shore and oddly more to the south in Norfolk. Frozen roads resulted in a driver I encountered along the way being in the ditch and needing a little assistance. With the park ranger's help and the recovery boards I keep on board we got her out without much drama and she backed her way down the icy hill. It was a beautiful to see the snow and families enjoying the hillsides in the historic area. Its pretty flat around here, so having a hill for sledding is not usually something we give much thought to... but today it was a worthy endeavor to give it a whirl.

On this cold day in February the Where2Wheel ambassadors underwent OffRoad recovery training with Where2Wheel parks. Todays lesson, what to do when the center of gravity has gone past the lateral limit of the vehicle... aka - vehicle rollover.
Using a farm truck and some of the basic recovery gear with 2 vehicles on opposing sides of the rolled vehicle, it is possible to execute a very controlled reunion of the vehicles tires back to solid ground with minimal risk of more damage to the vehicle and in such a way that the rolled vehicle doesn't uncontrollably slam down on the pulling side. Well executed recovery here. The blazer may never see the highway again however...
