No racing for the Boyd crew this weekend!

But just because we aren’t behind the wheel doesn’t mean we aren’t cheering someone on!

This weekend, we’re rooting for our cousin Kreece Elliott as he takes on the Battle of the Champions in Las Vegas!

Wishing him the best of luck, some serious speed, and hopefully a checkered flag to bring home! Go show ‘em what you’ve got, Kreece!

The little 1.3L motor is officially out! 💪

Now it’s time to start gathering parts for the new 1.6L turbo VW diesel engine and get this girl one step closer to being back on the road. 🛠️🚗

She’s definitely got a lot of work ahead of her, but every project starts somewhere, and we’re finally heading in the right direction! One step at a time, we’ll get her built back up and running again.

🚧🔧 Rainout = Garage Day 🔧🚧

Racing got rained out, and sitting around feeling sorry for myself wasn't productive enough.

So today I'm pulling the motor out of the Samurai and finally getting this long-term project rolling. 🚙💪
Wish me luck... because nothing empties a wallet faster than a project that starts with:

"I'll just pull the motor real quick." 😂💸

By the end of the day, I'm hoping to have the motor out, a solid game plan, and at least a few dollars left in the bank account. Realistically, I'll probably have an empty engine bay, a cart full of parts, and a growing list of things that "need attention while I'm in there."

Unfortunately, all the rain from the hurricanes won this round, and we won’t be racing Saturday. We are bummed but will be ready for the next one!

Race week is officially here for John, and this one is going to be a little different… we’re bringing TWO cars to the track for the first time ever!

I’m starting to think this man’s real hobby isn’t racing, it’s seeing how much stress his wife can handle. 😂

The cars are “ready”… but if you know John, you know ready doesn’t actually mean ready. It means spending every night in the garage finding something else to adjust, tune, tighten or take apart just because he can.

It’s going to be a busy week, an even busier race night, and probably a few “John, leave it alone!” moments along the way.

Two cars, double the chaos. Let’s see what happens!

THE BOYDS ARE BACK…

13 days, countless adventures, breathtaking views, and memories that will last a lifetime! We enjoyed every second of our much-needed vacation. No race cars, no garage, no racing stress… JUST FAMILY TIME!

But apparently, we don’t know how to ease back into things! 🤣

We’re going from vacation mode straight into FULL-BLOWN RACE MODE! October 10th, John has decided one race car just isn’t enough, so why not race TWO?!

The mini late is making its BIG COMEBACK after the fire!

The modified is FINALLY making its racing DEBUT!

Now we’re back in the garage, busting our butts to get both cars ready. So much for that relaxation! 😂

13 days of relaxation followed by 9 days of pure garage chaos. Sounds about right for the Boyd’s.
