The Sue Morris Sports Complex Tumbling and Stunting classes, located just 15 miles off of I-79, will provide services to children of age 3 and beyond. The SMSC will offer tumbling classes, tumbling privates, and stunting privates on Sundays. The indoor facility has a heating and cooling system, an AstroTurf floor, and side wall garage doors. Classes will be held on Flexi-Roll mats, which gives stu
dents the opportunity for a better transition to gym floor tumbling. Classes and privates will be instructed by Harrison County native, Mariah Gilmore. Her spark to help others achieve their athletic goals was ignited while working as a tumbling instructor at Dance Unlimited, located in downtown Clarksburg. The previous cheerleading coach at Glenville State College has served on multiple cheerleading teams since 2001. Those teams include Mountaineer All Stars, Unlimited Elite All Stars, Washington Irving Middle School, and Robert C. She helped claim multiple national championship titles while serving as a member of UEAS. During her high school career, she served as team captain. She received multiple awards during her four years at RCB, such as: All-Heart Award, Sportsmanship Award, Best All-Around Cheerleader Award, Cheer Hawaii USA Nominee, Sophomore Eagle Award, Two Time Punky Garrett Cheer Classic Most Valuable Cheerleader, All-Harrison County Cheerleader, and she became the first ever Three Time All Big Ten Cheerleader. Mariah was recruited for Fairmont State Universityโs Competitive Cheerleading Team, little did she know that Competitive Cheerleading was going to make the transition to Acrobatics and Tumbling at the beginning of her freshmen year. During the first inaugural season of Acrobatics and Tumbling, she quickly learned ways to improve tumbling passes and stunting skills that she had been executing for years. While on the A&T team, she and three of her team members claimed the 2013 NCATA Acro-7 Element National Championship. Her Acro group had the highest overall average score for the 2012-2013 season, beating members of the University of Oregon, Baylor University, Quinnipiac University, and Azusa Pacific University. Over the years, Mariah has provided assistance to middle and high school cheerleading teams throughout the state by helping them improve stretching techniques, surpass stunting obstacles, enhance tumbling skills, refine technical cheers, and construct conditioning routines. The ties made during her instructional visits opened up the opportunity for her to begin working the Region II Cheerleading Competition. Mariah has a passion for teaching individuals of all ages. Your childโs goals will become her goals. She looks forward to bringing a fun and educational tumbling and stunting atmosphere to the town of Glenville, WV and will do so in one of the nicest facilities in the state.
