The varsity Bengal Ballers are off to a 2-0 start as they ran out to a big 75-32 win over Class D champion North Warren in game 2 of the HVCC summer league. It was unselfish passing, balanced scoring, solid team defense and teamwork that helped pace the Bengals to the win!! Great job boys!!

Opening night summer league results:

Tamarac Bengal Ballers win their varsity opener at HVCC in a double overtime nail-biter rematch against Lansingburgh 43-42! Juniors Nicky Desso and Carter Harris were the heroes. Nicky with the late 3 and Carter with the old fashioned 3-point play hitting an ‘and-1’ finish and free throw. Huge win against the Class A finalist Knights.

In the JV opener Sophomore Evan Glynn nailed the game-winning 3 to secure a 46-43 win against Class D champion North Warren coming back from 13 down to stun the Cougars! Coaches Frank DePalma, Owen Glynn and Sam Kuiken notched the victory!

Congratulations to all of the Wasaren League All-Stars!! 4 of the 10 teams in the league made the Final 4 and I’m very proud of our boys for being one of them!!

Congratulations to our very own Sam Kuiken for being selected to both first-team All-Wasaren League and All-Section 2 Class B All-Star!! Sam is only the third player in Tamarac boys basketball history to earn this honor. Sam completed his career with two trips to the Section 2 Final 4 as well as a Runner-Up finish in the Wasaren League Championship game after an illustrious 69-game career!!!
