MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Jenn Caffarel

Jenn first started working with Jill Liddle Gaulin through personal training in February 2021. For about a year, she focused on one-on-one sessions before finally making the jump into classes.

Jenn is one of those athletes who has a hard time picking just one favorite movement. Lately, she's been enjoying cleans and deadlifts, but she's always had a love for a heavy back squat. And then there are the movements that make other people question her sanity—running and burpees. Most people hate when those show up in the workout, Jenn is ready to go!

What keeps her motivated is seeing progress and continuing to get stronger. But it's not just the numbers on the barbell. The people around her play a huge role too. The evening classes have become a source of accountability and encouragement. Melinda Pelkey keeps her honest. Knowing someone is expecting her to show up makes it a lot harder to skip a workout, and watching Melinda bring her A-game every day pushes Jenn to do the same.

Right now, Jenn has her sights set on rebuilding one of her proudest accomplishments: a 140-pound bench press. She's determined to get back there. At the same time this October, she'll be competing in the Boston Hyrox Women's Doubles race, which means a new training cycle is about to begin.

As for recovery? Jenn's favorite post-workout meal is easy: extra-crispy chicken wings. But on most days, you'll find her keeping it simple with chicken on a salad.

Whether she's chasing a bigger bench press, preparing for Hyrox, Jenn shows up with the same mindset every day: work hard, get stronger, and have fun doing it.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Lori Rohrbacher

When Lori and her husband Frank moved to New York in September 2023, she had one priority at the top of her list: find a CrossFit gym. Why? Because she knew her people would be there.

Since joining ADK, Lori has found exactly that. The friendships, camaraderie, and shennanigans of the 6:00 a.m. crew have made the gym feel like more than just a place to work out. It’s a community she looks forward to seeing.

In the gym, Lori gravitates toward the movements that make her smile: back squats and cleans. There’s just something fun about moving weight with confidence and power. But if the workout calls for snatches or wall walks? One word: yucky!

Right now, Lori's focus is on building strength and resilience, particularly in her legs and glute area, after dealing with strain and injury in her right hip. Like many athletes, she's learning that progress isn't always about pushing harder—sometimes it's about training smarter and building a stronger foundation.

Because she's an early-morning athlete, recovery starts with a simple but effective breakfast. After class, you'll usually find Lori enjoying yogurt topped with fruit and granola before heading into the rest of her day.

For Lori, CrossFit has always been about more than fitness. It's about finding your people and building the strength to keep doing the things you love, like keeping up with your Grandson!
