Bob's Big Timber Backyard Ultra
Hi Runner:
We are now three weeks away from Bob's Big Timber Backyard Ultra. We hope your training is going well and you and your crew are ready to tackle some big mileage goals! Speaking of being ready, summer weather in Ohio currently is very hot and humid with chances of rain most days (even if they aren't calling for rain!). Today was a prime example of that! We urge you to be prepared for this type of weather on race day. Please have a hydration and nutrition plan in place. Prepare for blisters accordingly. Be prepared for a rainstorm. We also strongly urge you to bring ice to keep both your liquids and your body cooled off.
We have had many runners come run the trails over the last few weeks. If you are local (or even if you aren't) feel free to come run the trails, just reach out to make sure we don't have anything else going on around the farm.
The Little Timber race will again take place on Friday, August 1st from 2 pm to 4 pm during packet pickup hours. Those of you who are local may have seen a story on this in the Bargain Hunter. It is for runners age 4 to middle school age. The format mimics the real thing but each loop is only a quarter mile or a mile (kids choice). There will be only six loops (one every twenty minutes for two hours). Snacks are provided after each loop. Kid runners need to be signed up by July 17 to guarantee a shirt. Please call or text Kevin Beachy at 3304016356 to sign up your kid. First name and shirt size is all that is needed. Cost is $20 cash at the race.
We will be sending out more updates as we get closer to race day with details on packet pickup, tent set up, etc. but if you need to know something to help you plan, feel free to reach out via email, phone, or on Bob's Big Timber Backyard Ultra page.
Thanks,
Bob Hunter
