Dear Families,
Welcome to the team! We’re excited to have you join us for the upcoming season and look forward to an incredible year. Here is an important message from the Glenelg Boosters Club and PTSA. If you have not already done so please support the GBC and PTSA by becoming a member today. You can do so here. https://glenelgboosters.com/booster-member-plans/
As part of our Glenelg community, we rely on the support of our families to keep things running smoothly—especially through volunteering. Volunteers from each team are required for outdoor concessions. We were able to open the concession stand for almost every single home game this past year which added $$ to your spending budget. But we need parents!! We have a special request for Varsity Football parents this year. We are asking them to volunteer to help set-up the concession stand and/or clean up the concession stand. This gives them an opportunity to volunteer without missing the game. If every family volunteers one event, we will have more than enough to cover our shifts. This year the Boosters will be keeping track of which teams volunteer and how often. The two top teams that fill the most volunteer spots will earn an extra stipend of $2,000 and $1,000. So please click the SUG links below ASAP and fill the spots.

Looking ahead, first up is our Annual Golf Outing on Monday, October 12th at Whiskey Creek Golf Course, and we couldn’t be more excited! As we start planning, we’re looking for volunteers to help out and would love it if your team could contribute to our basket raffle. Additionally, if you’re up for some friendly competition, we’d love to have you join us on the course too! More details on how to participate will be coming your way soon. Our second annual fundraiser is our legendary Fry Stand at the Howard County Fair. Mark your calendars now for next August 7th-14th. This is a fun and important fundraiser, and we’ll need all hands on deck! Each team is required to volunteer for one Fry Stand shift.
Soon you’ll be hearing from your coach, or team rep, with more information about when and where your help is needed. In the meantime, if you have any questions or would like to get involved early, feel free to reach out to our parent volunteer, Nicole Rosewag, at 4438122460 or [email protected].
Thank you in advance for your support—we truly couldn’t do it without you!
Warmly,
GHS Boosters
P.S. We know what you're thinking. What exactly does the Glenelg Booster Club do? Here are some things we have done for Glenelg in the last two years:
Made sure each athletic team gets new uniforms every three years.
Replaced the sound system in the Colosseum.
Designed the Go Big Red
Replaced school water fountains on every hallway with filtered bottle fillers for student use.
Purchased a new Gator vehicle for school security use and for our athletic trainer to access injuries quicker.
Helped send our Robotics Club to Texas for the National Competition.
Helped to purchase retractable batting cages for baseball and softball.
Purchase and hand deliver yard signs to graduating seniors.
Pay for and run senior events like Senior Sunset.
Pay for senior signs for Senior Nights for athletes.
Support staff with luncheons and other staff appreciation days.
AND SO MUCH MORE!
