Congratulations to Jan Qualkenbush on being recognized as a 2026 Citrus College Distinguished Alumni Award recipient.
Born and raised in Glendora, Jan’s journey began at Citrus College in 1976, where he studied automotive technology while working multiple jobs, including towing and auto body work. The lessons, work ethic, and values he developed during those years helped lay the foundation for what would become Jan's Towing, now one of the San Gabriel Valley’s most respected towing and recovery companies.
Over the decades, Jan has built a reputation not only as a successful business owner, but as a community leader dedicated to helping others. Through Jan’s Towing, he has supported local cities, first responders, schools, youth programs, and countless community events throughout the San Gabriel Valley.
His passion for motorsports led to the creation of Jan’s Racing, where he continues to invest in the next generation of drivers by providing opportunities, mentorship, and a pathway for young racers to compete at a high level.
We would also like to congratulate fellow Distinguished Alumni Award recipient Mark Leavens, whose decades of volunteer leadership and service have made a lasting impact throughout the community.
This recognition is a testament to a lifetime of hard work, perseverance, leadership, and giving back. We are proud to celebrate Jan’s accomplishments and grateful for the positive impact he continues to make every day.
