I've been working on the backbone of the electrical system the last several weeks. One battery is the "starter" for the engine. The other two are to run all the electronics and pumps that are in the boat. Yeah, this has been way over my head. Two steps forward and one step back day after day.

Batteries in place. One for starting the engine, two for running all the electronics and pumps.

I've been doing a lot of work inside the console, finishing it out. There will be a toilet in here, as well as dozens of wires that go to all the electronics of the boat. Some before and after pics.

I've been splitting my time between cleaning/finishing up the inside of the console, planning out electrical/plumbing, and getting started on the T-top hardtop. Doug, Joe, and Josh helped me hoist this on top of the T-top to mark out where the supports attach. I later cut it to the shape I wanted. Here's some progress on the T-top. 9 1/2 feet x 6 feet. Even used some geometry I learned some 50 years ago to mark the center of the support circles because they need to be cut out and replaced with a hardier component (Coosa, which is the black square you see in the center).

An update on the work I've been doing the last few months between the rains. The hull is pretty much finished. I may put one more coat of paint on the deck. Next will be installing the hardware, plumbing, electronics, oh and some work on the inside of the console.

I've added some non-skid texture to the hatch lids and finished that up with the final paint work.

Here' some more progress from the past week. I've put in these two hatches so that I can access the windlass, anchor rode, and some electrical connections. Also, the two small switches are there (on the right) so that the anchor can be raised/lowered from that position (there will be another control panel at the front of the console). The pieces of tape delineate where the the deck material is different. The material within the tape boundary is structurally very strong, very dense, as this is where the windlass, bow roller, and anchor cleat are installed.

I've been doing some work to cover up some of the large bolts that hold the engine bracket to the transom. There's a fold down bench seat that is to eventually be put in place just above them so I came up with a solution that would both cover up the bolts and not interfere with the fold down seat. Here's a few pictures of the bolts to be cover up, the seat roughly in place, and the piece I've built to cover up the bolts.
