Ippon Seoi Nage (One-Arm Shoulder Throw)

There are rare circumstances in a fight where we voluntarily put our back against our opponent’s chest, but this common Judo throw — widely adopted in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — is one of them. In order to train throws safely, it takes two to tango. Our training partner must first be well versed in how to safely receive a throw, commonly known as a “breakfall.”
