Follow for updates on the Glendale Youth Sports soccer program! We currently serve ages 3-12. We aspire to play in The Ohio Area State Tournament each fall.

We are part of the SAY Soccer national recreational soccer program in the Cincy Central "area".

⚽️ What are you doing tonight after dinner? If you’re not in Blue Ash cheering on our dominating U12 Girls against Sycamore, how about catching our future stars as our U8 Girls host Wyoming at 6pm and our U6 Girls square off against our U6 Boys at 6:15pm, both at Summit Park in Glendale (aka Village of Glendale Park). ⚽️

Four great soccer matches to see this weekend, if you are able to come out and cheer on our Glendale teams, starting with the last home game for our tournament bound and dominating U12 Girls Strikers!

I’m proud of all our kids today. I heard multiple stories of good sportsmanship in games that could have been blowouts. We were even on the receiving end of one - our U14 Boys got to see what their growth could look like in a year or two. They handled it admirably, as they have been coached to. Our coaches showed respect and the kids showed respect, win or lose. We did have some drama that was disappointing. I hope our kids know they can only do so much. They have such great hearts. To be accused otherwise makes me sad for them and angry at those parents who foster fear and hate. But I am also grateful for the parents who stepped up and said “sorry, that wasn’t okay”. It was validating and healing.

And hey, how about “Gettin’ Artsy for Wildlife” and Barktoberfest?!

Next weekend we have 4 home games, not to mention at least 1 home game each day Mon-Thu this week. Come on out and support these fantastic teams!

Thanks to Ryan, Chip, Alissa, and Kate for helping setup the new U10 goals. Once the old lines fade and we can get the goal areas and penalty areas widened, we will put the nets on and swap the new goals in. And thank you to our amazing Village public works crew for keeping our fields looking great!

It might be a twisted idea of fun, but until I have volunteers step up for Field Management, I’m happy to check the fields during a rainstorm, put the flags out, pull the goals back up to the goal line, and do a little grounds maintenance to keep the kids from tripping in holes. Coach Paul and Coach Chris currently have a game under way with their U12 Boys team at Summit Park. Hopefully the U8 field will be ready for Coach Leslie and Coach Victor for their U8 Boys game at 11:30, also at Summit Park. And the odds look really good for Coach Ryan and Coach Spencer for their U10 Girls game at Saunders at 1pm. I love this community and the 30+ volunteers enabling this opportunity for about 160 youth athletes.

I hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend! Posts have definitely slowed down with the increase of activity, but next week’s games are attached in the pics. Registration has been a rollercoaster this fall but I think we’re finally locked, after 7 last-minute additions. We have 12 teams this fall: U4, U5, U6 Boys, U6 Girls, 2xU8 Boys, U8 Girls, U10 Boys, U10 Girls, U12 Boys, U12 Girls, and for the first time in years, U14 Boys. That’s thanks to more than 25 volunteers who are coaching our wonderful young athletes, the parents supporting them, and the Board that supports us. Of course our fields wouldn’t look so nice without the support of charitable funding and the hard work of our Village maintenance crew. Thank you all! And congratulations to our U12 Girls, who got an early start and are 2-0-1.

If you’re interested in helping in any way, let me know. The work that remains is primarily referee reminders and placing and collecting corner flags. And sharing schedule information with the community.

Speaking of which, anyone who is interested can find the full schedule for the entire program at https://clubs.bluesombrero.com/GlendaleYouthSports.

How I spent my weekend… inflated 24 soccer balls; prepped 6 equipment bags for pickup tomorrow with first aid kits, cold packs, balls, pump, cones, pinnies, goalkeeper gloves, and goalkeeper shirts; moved 2 goals from Washington Park to Village of Glendale Park (aka Summit Park) and 2 from Washington to Saunders; celebrated a friend’s birthday, swam with my girls at the pool, watched an FCC game with a friend, and watched Harry Potter 5 with my girls. Phew! 😅 But a shout out to Kate, who was a beast today, braving the heat through 3 hours of moving goals.

Thank you again to all the volunteers that helped bring our GYS Soccer Camp to life, serving over 50 kids! It takes a Village. Many of them will also be a part of the team enabling over 140 kids across 12 teams to participate in GYS Soccer ⚽️ this Fall. More to come on that later, but if you want to be part of that effort, let me know. I could use some urgent help with referee management, fields, and equipment.

What an amazing finish to our GYS Soccer Camp last night! It wouldn’t have been possible without the help of about 15 volunteers (Mike, Paul, Kim, Aaliyah, Sharon, Jamie, Naudia, Matt, Ana, Amberlee, Dominique, Tim, Adam, David, and Kyle). Thank you for helping provide this opportunity to over 60 community youth participants. And thank you to Princeton Coaches Kyle and Emma for hooking us up with Princeton Viking Varsity Boys and Girls helpers every night. They enriched the experience of our kids immensely.

Note: We don’t intend to replace Princeton Soccer Camp. We just wanted to help cover the gap year. Thank you!

We had a great time at Washington Park this evening on Day 1 of GYS Soccer Camp. Thanks to all the volunteers who prepped for this and made it happen! Fingers crossed that the weather holds out for us tomorrow. Otherwise, I’ll see everyone on Wednesday.
