ATTENTION FISE 2017 ATHLETES: PLEASE READ BEFORE COMPETING IN TOMORROW'S EVENT!
As a fellow athlete, I understand why you are going. Trust me, I was ecstatic about the opportunity to go to France and compete with so many cool peeps and get paid to do it, but I also hope you will take the time to consider another perspective...
Note that ALL of the original athletes dropped out of the competition (including myself) due to MANY reasons/details that I'm still trying to wrap my head around.
This may not be the most professional avenue, but I have less than a day to get my point across, so I made this graphic to illustrate how your decision to compete may impact thousands of athletes, coaches, students, gyms and organizations worldwide for generations to come.
If FISE goes well and parkour is approved for the olympics with F.I.G. as the governing body, F.I.G. doesn't just control parkour competitions: they will also have the power to disrupt every facet of parkour culture and industry.
