The Village of Glendale Heights will remember Patriot Day on Friday, September 11, with a silent parade of first responder vehicles from Reskin School, west bound on Fullerton Avenue to Village Hall, followed by a candlelight service at 7:15 p.m. on the front steps of Village Hall.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. We invite the Glendale Heights community to join us as we come together to honor the lives lost, recognize the courage and sacrifice of first responders, and reflect on the events that changed our nation forever.

Please join us for a moment of silence and reflection as we remember September 11, 2001. We will never forget.

The registration is now open for our upcoming Fall Volleyball League!

Practices will begin the week of September 21-25 and games on Saturdays starting October 3.

Phew… we need to talk about our Glendale Heights trees.

They’ve been through a LOT this summer. Wind. Storms. Tornadoes. Hail. Broken branches. Downed trees. Let’s just say Mother Nature has been a little extra lately. So, we’re asking our residents to show our trees a little love and TLC. In other words… go Hug a Tree. Because honestly, they need it.

Head out to one of our local Glendale Heights parks and find one of our 10 huggable trees. Scan the QR code, fill out the quick online survey, and you’ll be entered for a chance to win some prizes while showing our trees some much-needed love. This Monday, we’ll be giving away three backpacks filled with school supplies, and in just a few short weeks, we’ll be giving away our final prizes of the season.

So go ahead. Get outside. Find a huggable tree. Give it a hug. Enter to win.

Because after the summer we’ve had… our trees could use a little love.
