Hey, I know you! 👋 Have you been struggling with motivation? Finding it tough to stay consistent because “there’s always something else” that needs your time and energy? ⏰😩
Well, I see you. 🥸

I can list all kinds of time management tips here that may or may not resonate with you, but they most likely would still require you to get up, and just start, and sometimes that’s the hardest part.

What really helps ME stay on track is having an Accountability Buddy! 😃😃
Having that person doesn’t require much time management, and I’m making a commitment to someone other than myself, so I’m less likely to be “pulled away” to other tasks that, in all likelihood, can wait. (I’m looking at you, laundry!! 😉)
Bonus: an Accountability Buddy doesn’t even need to be “with” you! It can be as simple as a phone call or text commitment with your AB.
If you’re struggling with consistency, or finding time for exercise, maybe recruit an Accountability Buddy! Let me know how it works out! 💪💪

I’ve been wanting to try this challenge for a while, and honestly wasn’t sure if I’d be successful. It looks so EASY on reels! 😃😫
I’m not showing you the first 20 attempts I made at this mobility challenge before the final few, (you’re welcome! 😜), and it certainly wasn’t easy for me, but I had FUN figuring it out!

Who thinks Strength Training is only good for aesthetic purposes, or bulking up? 🤦🏻‍♀️
Well, if that’s you — and there are a lot of people who feel that way —it’s time to start thinking about Strength Training in a different way, especially if you’re over 30. (Yes, I said 30!!) 😳
Strength Training can be used for aesthetic goals for sure, but more importantly it’s about living WELL, and aging successfully.

Anybody else love setting out everything they need for a workout *before* they start? Like, instead of grabbing as you go, setting everything out in advance? Truth be told, I don’t do this often, but some days when my motivation may be lacking, I take this step to get me moving “towards” my workout that day. 🤔
Just the process of setting my weights out, (even just a few!), getting the bar ready, my mat out, maybe a kettlebell or two! (not using “the baby” today 😆👶)…taking those few small steps really help to get me started, then lo-and-behold it feels really good to move my body and lift heavy sh*t! 🏋🏽‍♂️
Just creating that bit of momentum makes it all seem easier to keep moving forward.

Just goofing around on this Friday Fun-day!! 🤪
Thought I’d try out the TikTok trend of spinning around to a handstand in 3 beats. 😳 The strength to perform a handstand, I am grateful to have. 🙏 The flexibility and coordination, less so. (There’s a reason why I’m not posting the video!! 😆🤸🏻‍♂️)
That doesn’t mean I’m not going to try though!!
I didn’t know if I would succeed, or not, but I knew I would have fun trying. I definitely laughed at myself more than a few times! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂
Let’s be honest, I think we could all use a little more laughter in our lives right now.

Hiiiiii!! It’s been a minute since I’ve posted anything, mostly because there are some creepy MF-ers in this world and having a public acct exposes you to all kinds. 🤨

Actively willing in Spring today with bright colors (finally, !!), and a bit of brute force! I’m pretty tired of being forced inside with all the rain we’ve been having and more in the forecast, so took the new sled out for a spin. Let’s just say the slope of my driveway is more apparent to me now. 😂💪

Squats. They aren’t a very sexy exercise, but they are in all probability, the most important movement pattern we use as humans.
Doing a squat properly is actually a full-body exercise ➡️ you need your core and back engaged for proper alignment. And, as an added bonus, doing squats on the regular, as part of a strength training program, can help protect your joints, (think: knees, hips, ankles), by strengthening the muscles around them and providing much needed stability for those areas helping to prevent injury, especially as we age! 😲
