This summer we taught 270 swimmers in our American Red Cross private swimming lessons program! We also offered small group lessons for 17 of the First Ev. Lutheran School Flames of Faith students and look forward to continuing that partnership in upcoming summers.

We want to send a special congratulations to Brynn, Elsie, Olivia, Beckett, Camden, Bryce, Eva, Teddy, C**t, Reagan, and Austin on completing Level 6 and officially finishing the Learn to Swim program. It’s both a privilege and an honor to work with families throughout the years and we hope you consider lifeguarding in the future!

We also enjoyed presenting our Whales Tales safety curriculum to students at Panther Cub-House, Panther Adventure Club, and Precious Little Blessings Daycare. Our lifeguards and swim instructors taught lessons about how to be safe in, on, and around the water!

Thank you to all the families who chose Breckynn, Ellie, Jacey, Liz, Paola, or Teresa as their instructor. Lots of accomplishments were achieved by all our students and we’re thrilled to be part of that! We look forward to seeing you all again next summer!

Our 9th Annual Soggy Doggy Day event was once again a huge hit! We had over 40 dogs join us for a beautiful afternoon swim. $325 in cash donations was raised and we are grateful for the cat and dog food and treats donated as well. The shelter also has an Amazon wish list - check it out and help them out if you missed our event!

As we wrap up our 2026 season, we want to recognize and thank our front line leadership team! Benton and Ellie were our Head Lifeguards, and Korey graciously returned as Assistant Director to train Izzy into his role so he could (finally) officially retire from the GAC.

These individuals spent countless hours working hard to help the facility run smoothly, including mentoring peers, placing and unloading food orders, identifying maintenance issues, enforcing policies and procedures, and handling all other aspects of daily operations.

Korey, we wish you the very best in your adventures ahead. Know that the impact you’ve made on our team as their leader, mentor, and friend over the past five years has made a lasting impact. We know you will carry these qualities with you as you move on to the field and classroom as a coach and teacher. We were just the beginning for you, and we couldn’t be more proud to be part of your story.

Jacey is one of our 2026 Distinguished Staff award recipients!

Jacey was given the Lifeguard of the Year award by the Aquatics Director. Jacey finished her third year of lifeguarding with us this summer and was often the acting Head Lifeguard for one of teams of staff in the absence of the Head Lifeguard. She exudes a peppy personality and radiates kindness and thoughtfulness, especially when interacting with patrons and swimming lessons students.

She is an exceptional employee who is willing to handle any challenge, is a self-starter and a problem-solver, and delivers excellent customer service. We have been fortunate to have her on staff with us this summer!

Kayley is one of our 2026 Distinguished Staff award recipients!

Kayley was given the Rookie of the Year award by the Leadership Team. Kayley is a positive and light-hearted staff who is kind and considerate of everyone around her. She daily goes above and beyond by offering to help others, often selflessly doing their tasks in addition to hers while they are busy with something else.

As a first-year lifeguard, Kayley is exceptionally accurate and knowledgeable with her skills. She is a problem-solver who isn’t afraid to help guide and teach her peers during training sessions.

Her positivity and enthusiasm are genuine and unwavering and we have been fortunate to have her on staff with us this summer!
