I hope everyone had a great summer and is ready to start the 2026-2027 Basketball season! SYC Warrior Youth Basketball registration will be open from today 8/25/2026 through 9/25/2026. Basketball Division Info:
Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade Coed Instructional Basketball:
$85 Registration Fee. New this year, there will be evaluations as the sessions will not be set based on grades, but the skill level that will best support your players growth and love of the game. There will be three levels this year. Also, they will be assigned to a specific coach/team for the duration of the sessions. The season will be January thru February for 8 sessions. Saturday mornings for an hour per session. This is a clinic- style program, like a basketball camp, to teach the players basketball fundamentals while having a ton of fun! Registration for instructional will be open into November and season starts in January.
3rd Grade through 8th Grade Boys and Girls Team Basketball:
There are numerous changes for this year. Let’s start with the registration fee, with regrets the registration fee has been increased for this year to $250 per player if registered by 9/13/2026, early bird special. Starting 9/14/2026 registration will increase to $275. This decision was not made lightly. A detailed review of expenses was conducted, and this is the bare minimum just to cover expenses. We will be holding a parent meeting during try-outs, and we will review the driving factors behind the increase. If registering multiple children we will offer a $25 sibling discount that will be
applied to the second and beyond child. To help ease this large increase, we will give each family 2 season passes to our home games valued at $48. We will also provide a fundraising opportunity giving you the chance to recoup $50. These two actions will all but return the registration to the amount it was last year.
Uniforms will become the responsibility of the families going forward. The uniform cost this year is included in the $250 or $275 amounts. Going forward to future seasons, only the uniform pieces that are needed will need to be purchased. The players will also, maintain their number through their duration in the program.
We have joined a third league for this upcoming year. This addition has now ended our program from having rec and travel. All players will play teams within York County. Our teams will now be known as the Varsity, JV, and Freshmen teams. For those who previously played on a rec team and traveled to South Eastern, the distance is roughly the same with the new schools in the league.
The team basketball season will run November to February, evaluations/tryouts in October.

Our Senior Boys (7th/8th grade) registration will open on November 20th after the Middle School tryouts. Registration is $250.
A separate communication will be sent regarding the Challenger (Special Needs) Basketball program. Challenger registration will open in October.
