Stabilizing some walnut for handles.

Pulling a vacuum while in a stabilizing resin pulls out the air and allows the resin to enter the wood, which is then cured at about 180 degrees F.

Some progress pics from last night. The deer print is a neat touch, but created a lot of extra work because the etching bridged between the smaller details and those had to be ground out. Back to 200 grit, 320, 400, 600, cork belt at 400, then cork belt at 600, then scotch brite surface conditioning belt.
