Faith & Hope update. They are looking better.
Still some nasal discharge and some coughing but both the discharge and the coughing is less. They need 5 days of no coughing and no nasal discharge in order to get cleared for travel.
They are exactly where they need to be right now, under the care of a veterinarian who is well versed in rehab and care of animals who need special attention. It is costly but worth it.
Having them need quarantine board wasn't factored in when I budgeted things out, my mistake and I shouls have planned for it.
Specialized quarantine board costs ~ $30/ day not including any extra vet exams or medicine.
We are looking at maybe seeing Faith and Hope sometime next week. The money set aside for hauling has been used, in part, to provide extra veterinary care and to pay for quarantine boarding.
I will be able to cover the expenses but it means I need to adjust my budget in other ways.
Everyone has been so helpful and kind! You all have purchased lessons and that's been such a lovely surprise.

**Tiny Tot/ Mommy & Me offer**
Tiny tot lesson package- $210/7 (30 minute) lessons. Scheduled lesson to lesson

Time is limited for the above offers. Jax will be retiring mid September 2026.

Faith is feeling a bit unwell but I think it's a good thing. She's finally getting the nutrition she needs and getting properly hydrated. I don't think she was able to fight the infection before and so she was just living with chronic respiratory issues.
Faith sounds like she is in protective momma horse mode. I'm hoping she will settle down a bit.
Right now, I am planning on them being down in quarantine for at least another week. They need to be nasal discharge free and cough free before heading up to CT.
Since they are quarantining for longer than planned I will be posting a special for tiny tot lessons with the next day or so.
Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. I hope both Faith and Hope heal quickly and are able to make it up to CT soon.

They are resting and healing. While it is hard to wait to see them they need to be healthy before traveling. Here's hoping they will feel better by the end of this week and that they will be able to travel sometime after June 15th.

Faith & Hope update.
As you can see Faith still has nasal discharge. She needs to be discharge free for at least 5 days before traveling.
Hope's antibiotics are wearing off and she isn't feeling well. It seems like Faith is getting more protective of Hope. You can see in the second photo Faith is standing in the doorway of the stall. That to me speaks volumes. She's standing watch while her little one rests. Please keep sending them positive vibes. Please sending healing prayers and also pray that Faith will let the vet tend to Hope. The vet would like to give hope a second shot of antibiotics tomorrow. Here's hoping Faith will let her.

These two girls have stolen a part of my heart already. I really hope that Hope gets better soon.
I'm praying that this is the it gets worse before it gets better part of her illness.
Also check out their buddy in the first photo! They've met goats!

I'm so glad to see Faith feeling strong enough to protect her baby but at the same time that makes ot so much harder to provide the care that Hope needs.
Thank you for being part of their journey. I will keep you updated!
A huge thank you to Tara for all of the photos and updates!

Faith and Hope update!
They both got dewormed yesterday and both are feeling better. They are still very skittish and hesitant around humans.
Faith is getting some energy back and starting to be a little defensive/protective which is to be expected.
Both horses still have nasal discharge but they are breathing better and looking more alert. At this time we are waiting for the discharge to clear up before they travel. They are not able to travel until they are healthy.
Please keep sending them good vibes and prayers. Here's hoping we get to see them in about a week!
Thank you, to everyone who is rooting for them.

Faith and Hope update!!!
All ten special standard lesson package deals have been sold! We are sold out.
We still have 4 packages available for Tiny Tot Lessons. Please reach out to secure the special pricing.

Faith and Hope are doing better. Faith is having some discharge from her nose but she isn't acting sickly or like she has pneumonia. Hope is feeling a lot better. She is no longer coughing and seems to be brighter.
Both are very skinny and now the focus is on putting weight on Faith and making sure Hope is getting the nutrition she needs.
It's a long road ahead for them but they are safe and can get the care they need thanks to every single person who purchased the special lesson package offer!
You all made this happen. You all help these two get out of the pipeline and to quarantine.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU TO EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO HAS STEPPED UP AND HELPED.

We have a lot of things happening and I am doing my best to keep track of it all. These two ladies are my last projects, at least for a while. Stay tuned for more updates on all of the horses.

Resharing the cute photo of Faith and Hope with their friend.
Second photo is from last night. They were loving the flake of alfalfa. Still pretty skittish but totally understandable.
Hope is doing good. No news or updates is good news!
I'm so thankful I reached out the the lot and to their quarantine facility. Where there are at now is way better equipped to triage a sick foal. While waiting is hard, it is the best thing for Faith and Hope.
At the end of the day I remind myself I need to do what is best for the horses (and all the other critters I am the steward of).
Have a lovely Thursday.

I will be posting about my first horse today. It's a tough topic for me but it warrants mentioning.
