Next up on “Meet the Team” is 8th grader, June Simpson. June has played golf for 2 1/2 years and is having a huge impact on the Trojanettes’ season. She has had some extraordinary golf experiences and was gracious to answer some questions for us to get to know her.

Girls Region Preview today at Crosswinds in Bowling Green today!!
Our girls showed up and showed out!!!

Shout out to Chloe Witcher for bringing home another 3rd place finish!

And congratulations to June Simpson for a new PR and breaking 90 today!!!!

One more 18 hole tournament next Saturday at Adair County before district and region post season kick off!!

The Trojanettes remain undefeated in match play after meeting Greenwood tonight at Crosswinds with a score of 184. Leading the team was senior Chloe Witcher with a 37 followed by: Briley King 49, Kailynn Peterson 49, Riley Decker 49, June Simpson 54, Cambree Witcher 54 and Lily Calhoun 57.
Congratulations to Cambree Witcher on a match personal record. 👏

Meet the team!!

Kailynn Peterson’s sophomore year marks her third year of playing golf. She gained valuable experience in the off-season through BGT tournaments resulting in large score improvements over last year. While working through the busiest part of the season, she answered the following questions to help us get to know her better.

Two solid hours on a hot summer day in a sand trap the whole time.

What’s your role on this year’s team?
Making sure everyone keeps their head up and feels supported. I want to be sure it’s a special season for our seniors and equally special for our 8th grade teammates.

What would be your walk up song?
All I Do is Win

What’s your favorite club in your bag?
Lazarus hybrid (bonus, I stole it from my dad’s bag)

Even as an underclassman, Kailynn handles stress with grace and humor and a team mindset. Keep working hard, Kailynn, your cheering section is huge!

What a DAY for Barren County Girls Golf! ♥️🏌🏼‍♀️💛

Today we had the privilege of hosting the Barren County Invitational at Willow Oaks Golf Course, welcoming an incredible 99 high school golfers to compete!

Our girls showed up, battled through the course, supported one another, and represented Barren County with so much pride.

🏆 Chloe Witcher finished 3rd overall with an outstanding 72!
🔥 Briley King carded an amazing PR of 86!
👏 Bella Purlsey also recorded a PR today!

As a team, we finished with a 351 and, more importantly, showed exactly what this group is all about the hard work, encouragement, determination, and being there for each other.

Hosting a tournament is a lot of work, but seeing these girls compete, celebrate each other, and make memories together makes every minute worth it. We couldn’t be prouder of this team!

A huge thank-you to everyone who helped make today’s invitational such a success and to all 99 players who came out and competed!
