🇮🇹 What Italy reminded me about health & fitness…

Being healthy doesn’t mean giving up the things you love. ❤️

Italy reminded me that some of the simplest habits can make the biggest difference:

🍅 Eat fresh, real food.
🍝 Enjoy the pasta — portions matter.
🍽️ Slow down and savor your meals.
❤️ Food is meant to be enjoyed, not feared.
🚶‍♀️ Move naturally — walk whenever you can.
🌿 Simple is often better.
☀️ Spend time outside.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Surround yourself with people you love.

Fitness isn’t about restriction or perfection.

It’s about creating a lifestyle you can enjoy AND sustain.

At 51, that’s what health means to me more than ever.

Eat well. Move your body. Enjoy your life.
Consistency > perfection. 🇮🇹

My non-negotiables at 51. 💪

😴 Prioritize sleep — recovery matters.
🥗 Plan my meals ahead — consistency starts with preparation.
🥩 Protein at every meal — to support muscle, recovery and satiety.
🏋️‍♀️ Strength train with a plan — every workout has a purpose and supports my goals.
🚶‍♀️ Low-intensity cardio — walking and daily movement are staples.
🤍 A positive environment — protect my energy and surround myself with people who support my goals.
🥂 Limit or eliminate alcohol — it simply doesn’t align with how I want to feel.

At this stage of my life, being fit isn’t just about how my body looks. It’s about being strong, healthy, capable and feeling my best.

No extremes. No quick fixes. Just habits I can sustain for life.

Fit at 51. And playing the long game. 🤍

THIS is what happens when the plan fits your life. 💪

Today’s check-in ➡️

She has a busy schedule. She works out at home. And she’s incredibly coachable and consistent.

We didn’t build her life around a fitness plan.
We built the plan around her life.

The goal isn’t a quick transformation or chasing someone else’s idea of the “perfect” body.

We focus on building and sustaining healthy habits, getting stronger, and creating the body she feels her best in — in a way she can actually maintain.

A good plan matters.
Consistency matters.
Being coachable matters.
And when all three come together, the results speak for themselves.

New spots for Personal Training & Online Coaching opening in late September.

Men & women.
Committed people only.

Setting the table, using the nice plates, and making everything from scratch—not because it has to be perfect, but because these little rituals matter.

Good food is meant to be savored.
Meals are meant to slow us down, bring us together, and be shared with the people we love.

Cook with love. Set the table. Sit down. Stay a little longer. 🤍

These are the moments I want to remember.

A little personal decision… ⬇️

Date night with my husband yesterday and for the first time in a long time, there was not a glass of prosecco on the table. 🥂❌

I’m giving up alcohol for the next 90 days.

This isn’t because I drank a lot. It was usually just 1–2 glasses a week, and maybe more on vacation. I actually stopped drinking completely for 9 months a few years ago, so I know I can do it.

But now, at 51 and navigating perimenopause, I’ve started paying even closer attention to how my body feels—not just while I’m having a drink, but the day after.

Even a couple of glasses leave me feeling dehydrated, puffy, bloated, and not quite like myself.

As someone who believes in walking the talk, I’m always willing to experiment, learn, and see what truly helps me feel and perform at my best.

So this is my next experiment: 90 days alcohol-free.

Will I never drink again? I honestly don’t know. I’m not making that decision today. I’m simply giving my body the opportunity to show me how it feels without alcohol.

If you’re in your 40s or 50s, especially during perimenopause or menopause, you may notice that your body responds differently than it did years ago. Listening to those changes isn’t restrictive—it’s empowering.

I’ll share what I learn along the way.

Has anyone else taken abreak from alcoho? I’d love to hear about your experience. ❤️
