⚽💙 We are just under ONE WEEK away from the Gladwin vs. Beaverton Girls Varsity Soccer game! Several of these athletes got their start right here with GCYSA, and we couldn’t be more proud to watch them continue their soccer journey.

At halftime, the Gladwin girls will also be holding a special dedication honoring the youth coaches who made a lasting impact on their soccer careers. 💙⚽

📣 Coaches — we strongly encourage you to invite your teams to attend! This is such a great opportunity for our “little kids” to watch the “big kids” play the game we all love.

Please note: Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Did you forget to turn in your fundraiser last week?

No worries!! Bring it to your child(ren)’s game this weekend! ⚽ We will have a board member with a table set up again to collect fundraiser packets and payments.

Can’t make it Saturday? We’ll also have a board member at the fields Thursday evening who can meet with you. Just send us a message so we can help coordinate a time 😊

⚽️ Tomorrow kicks off our Spring Soccer season with our very first games of the season! We are so excited to see all the players back out on the fields and can’t wait for an amazing season ahead.

It also means fundraiser packets are due! A board member will have a table set up starting at 8AM for all fundraiser turn-ins.

We want to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who made it out to our mixer yesterday! 🧡 It may have been a chilly one, but you all still showed up and made it a great event!

If you meant to grab a fundraiser packet and forgot, no worries—just send us a message and we’ll make sure it gets to your child’s coach.

We had a few frequently asked questions, so we wanted to share them here in case others were wondering:

Q: Is there a requirement for shorts & sock colors in the U6–U10 age groups?
A: Nope! Players in U6–U10 can wear any color socks and bottoms they choose.
U12 & U15 have full uniforms

Q: What gear is required?
A: Players need shin guards (worn UNDER tall socks), some type of pants/shorts, their jersey, and soccer cleats.
⚽ Cleats MUST be soccer cleats. While not required for the littles, they are STRONGLY recommended for safety.

Q: Does my player need their own ball?
A: Nope! Coaches will have extras available. If you do purchase one, just be sure it’s the correct size for your player.

Q: When is picture day?
A: Pictures will take place the week of April 20th. The full schedule will be released at the end of next week.

Q: Can they wear sweatshirts under their jerseys?
A: Absolutely! Crewnecks are recommended but if you choose to wear a hoodie just make sure the hood is tucked INSIDE. Hoods pose a choking risk if another player accidently grabs it while playing.

If you haven’t heard from your player’s coach by 3PM on Sunday, April 12th, please send us a message and we’ll get you connected.

🌧️ It may be a rainy morning, but the mixer is STILL ON for this evening!

What to expect:
⚽ Meet the coaches
📍 See where your child(ren) will be playing & practicing
📄 Pick up a fundraiser packet

Coaches:
Please arrive at the fields by 5:30 PM for a quick meeting and to receive your equipment.

Parents:
Please do not arrive before 6:00 PM, as coaches will be in a meeting until then 😉

⏰ Mixer Time: 6:00–6:30 PM

If you already know your child’s coach, feel free to head straight to them.
If not, stop by the tables—we’ll happily point you in the right direction!
