A message from WSDOT with all of you so we can be prepared:

We have a lot of roadwork taking place in the northend including construction projects, maintenance and repairs. We always try to minimize any effects to travel, but sometimes it is necessary to close a lane to do the work or create a safe work zone for our crews. We also have many special events permitted to take place on our state roads and highways.

• Sunday, Aug. 21 through Thursday, Aug. 25
o From 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, eastbound and westbound traffic on SR 542/Mount Baker Highway just west of Kendall at MP 19 to in intersection with NR - 32 near the Shuksan Picnic Area at MP 46 will alternate through a single lane for crack seal and pavement repair.

Remember to drive safe and give 'em a brake!

We're closing in on Bayou's big 15th birthday and we've got a week of celebratory specials planned. We're kicking things off on Tues., May 31 with all-day happy hour at throwback drink prices—cocktails will be just $6 from open to close! On Friday, June 3, we'll be grilling oysters outside during Art Walk—and look for other specials every day next week including crawfish boils, fancy Bloody Marys and whatever other birthday magic we can conjure up to say thank you for 15 years of making Bayou part of your lives.

The even bigger news is that we're expanding our hours starting this weekend! We've heard your requests and will now be open until 11pm every Friday and Saturday night, which means more Bayou for everyone!

Road Closure:
The Mt. Baker Highway (542) will be closed from 7:15 AM to 11 AM between Canyon Creek Road in Glacier and Mt. Baker Lodge. Any viewers, participants or additional support vehicles who want to go to the top of the mountain must pass Canyon Creek Road prior to 7:15 AM.
