I have been putting this post off for awhile. I was hopeful I would be able to at least book a few trips this fall. But not knowing what my mobility restrictions are going to be at this point I simply can't book anyone. I have another procedure comming up. So looks like it will be late October or November before I could stand all day and walk to scout and guide properly. That being said if I do go out fun fishing I will post. Anyone who is free and wants to fun fish I will gladly help all I can for free. I truly love to guide and I hope to be back to full health and able to guide again soon. I appreciate all of you who I have got the pleasure of fishing with over the years and I pray I will be able to again. This is not good bye fingers crossed it's just a see you later.
Please help me threw the hardship and support our bait company this fall it would really help fill the void from not guiding. God bless and tight lines everyone.

John came out with us Monday and we fished threw some smaller systems staying away from people and targeting smaller pods of fish he had caught several steelhead in the morning so we went to check out a different small waterway and we located a small pod of fish about 15-20 fish the system was so small and the water so clear that I had John crouched down in the weeds casting to the fish so we did not spook them the trick worked and after catching several of the steelhead he finally connected with this beautiful lake run brown that we kept seeing John learned alot about fish behavior and how pressure and human presence affects the bite I'm confident he will put that knowledge to good use on future adventures.

The water has been low and fishing has not been the greatest for PA steelhead so me and a couple buddies decided to catch some salmon in NY and on the last day we went brown trout fishing we netted around 30 fish total from 10am until dark tossing single eggs and egg sacs on light leader (6lb fluro) it did the trick a few fell victim to the 3 inch green slime worm and several fell for a 8mm bead in our natural egg yolk it was one of those days where you just couldn't not catch a fish.

Current conditions for Lake Erie tributaries:

➡️ Low water + High angling pressure = highly stressed steelhead

The steelhead instinct is so strong that even though tributary conditions are not ideal, they will continue to attempt to enter tributaries and move to upstream habitats to spawn.

Fish caught that appear overly stressed and in poor condition should be harvested while observing size and creel limits.

(Not my photo)The photo below is what is left of the youghiogheny lake for anyone who thinks this is normal it is not that's a lake that is 100 foot deep usually it is reduced to a small river they usually lower it to winter pool levels in the fall but this has been the scene since summer time you can walk the streets of somerfeild pa a town that sits at the bottom of the youghiogheny lake and even walk across the great crossing bridge. Due to irresponsible water management during an extreme drought the US Army Corps has lowered this lake to a small river since the middle of summer they have had levels very low to keep good on their contract with the rafting companies they continue to release extra water every weekend so these companies don't lose any business in the process they are completely destroying not only a walleye fishery but a great cold water fishery below the dam we might not have lost all the fish at the dam but trout down stream have to have been affected by this.

Why isn't this being covered by the news outlets the US Army Corps have completly decimated a fishery all because the rafting companies need water to do business down river. But ask any one from the corps and your fast to get the common answer of the lake and dam is flood control only. Yet they will drain every last bit of water if they have have to so they can maintain white water levels and flows on the weekend for rafting companies if you love this fishery its time to organize and make them make changes before its to late if it isn't already to late 😔😔😔
