The Girard basketball community and boosters are deeply saddened by the passing of legendary coach Larry Seneta, a true Girard icon who built the YellowJackets into a powerhouse during his tenure. As the most successful coach in District 10 girls basketball history, his career was highlighted by the 1998 PIAA State Championship.

Far beyond the victories and titles, Coach Seneta meant so much to our teams as a devoted mentor who taught the fundamentals of the game and of life, instilled confidence in his players, and continued to care for and support his players long after graduation. His kindness, wealth of knowledge, passion, and genuine enthusiasm shaped generations of YellowJackets and inspired the entire community.

We extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to his family and all whose lives he touched. Rest in peace, Coach. Your remarkable legacy will forever live on in Girard Basketball.
