BISH ARENA CONTESTANTS …
Our series is finally over and I know I haven’t posted results yet. I will be posting them tonight. I’m sorry I’ve been so late in getting them out. We had a small group this year for several reasons but it went fairly well.
That being said, I have had to come to a very tough decision.
I started these playdays so that my grandkids and other kids learning to ride could have a fun, safe, and encouraging place to come and ride and compete and at the same time grow in confidence in themselves and their horses as well as learn what good sportsmanship was like. As I grew up, I remember going to these types of shows and EVERY person whether it was the kids themselves or the parents were there to cheer on and encourage EVERY rider NO MATTER the caliber of the riders.
However, sadly, the atmosphere at the events I have tried so hard to provide have become ANYTHING BUT. There are older kids, whom the younger ones look up , who consistently are using foul language, bad mouthing other riders, calling names, beating their horses, screaming and cussing out their own parents. There are parents who are doing the EXACT SAME THING. I can no longer keep having talks with my grandkids on how NOT TO ACT each and every Friday night when they approach me with questions. I can no longer deal with being accosted by others because they don’t like a call that is made in the arena nor dealing with my volunteers being lambasted because they are gracious enough to help me in any way possible that they can.
I’m sooooooooooo sorry to those who don’t fit this narrative but it is my decision that because the shows I have put on for the past 5 years will be coming to a close.
It Is with sadness and tears that Bish Arena Saddle Series will no longer be going in the summers any more.
I will post results tonight and the winners will need to contact me with sizes, favorite colors, etc so I can get prizes ordered.
When prizes come in, I will contact y’all and you can make arrangements to pick them up from me.
I wish this wasn’t the case but sadly it is what this world is coming to and the lack of manners in both parents and kids these days.
