Freedom Invite 2026

The Tigers High school and Middle school competed in their first meet of the year. The boys varsity fielded a team of 5 runners in a field of 37 runners for small schools and 69 total runners for small and large school combine. This was the first high school meet for all of Gillett’s boys and first cross country race for 3 of the runners. Leading the way for the boys was freshman Noah with a 2nd place finish (small school) and 10th place overall finish for large and small schools combined. Noah’s time was 18:13. Running 2nd for the Tigers was freshman Braxton with a 25th place finish (22:42). Third for the Tigers was Nolan 32nd (23:59), followed by Henry 33rd (24:00) and Brandon 34th (24:32). The Tiger boys took 4th place as a team in small schools competing against Brillion, Sevastopol, and Peshtigo.

The varsity girls are able to field a team this year. Leading the Tiger girls was sophomore Amanda 8th (23:28). Coming back for her senior season and from an injury that took her out of basketball and most of track season is Hope 12th (23:44). Taking 3rd for the team 20th (26:00) is sophomore Halle. Taking 4th for the Tigers is senior Maggie 35th (30:46). Rounding out the Tigers top 5 and coming back from injury is sophomore Sharlese 40th (32:36). The Gillett girls took 4th place out of 5 teams in small school.

The tigers had two girls compete in the JV race. Both girls are new to cross country and did great in their first time out. Freshman Bayli took 30th(29:58) and senior Harmony 32nd ( 30:10). There were 70 runners in the girls JV race.

The middle school boys team took 5th place out of 9 schools. The first 5 boys for the tigers were Jackson 5th (9:39), Carson 13(10:07), Johnny 14th (10:07), Reid 17th (10:16) and Colton 43 11:28). Also competing for the the middle school boys were Alex, Tobias, Gunner, Carter, Sawyer, Daniel, and Van. The boys have a young team and compete well.

The middle school girls had two runners competing. Autumn took 81 (15:27) and Olivia took 82 (15:32). There were 93 girls in the middle school race with many large schools competing along side small schools.

The season is brand new and full of opportunities. The Tigers are off to a strong start. Congratulations to all runners!

The 2026 cross country season has arrived. The boys and girls will be competing with complete varsity teams.

The girls team has high aspirations heading into this season. 3 time conference champion and senior Hope looks to guide the Tigers on her farewell season. Maggie joins Hope in her senior season farewell tour. Halle, 2nd team all conference in 2025, returns for her sophomore season. Sophomore Sharlese returns for her second varsity season. Amanda, 1st team all conference, returns for her sophomore season looking to improve upon her exceptional freshmen season. Newcomers this year are freshmen Bayli and Senior Harmony.

The boys varsity team is complete and it consists of 5 runners that are both new to running and freshman. Juniors Nolan, Brandon, and Henry are poised to compete in their first season of cross country. Noah and Braxton are leaving the success of middle school behind(The middle school team was dominant last year) to embark on their high school athletic journey.

There are lots of excited middle school athletes that look to be ready to continue with the success and individual achievements from last year. As always Nicki will post updates of the meet results as available. Follow this page for updates. Tell your friends!

The Gillett Cross Country program has a long history of success. Multiple team conference championships, Individual conference champions, state team appearances, individual state qualifiers, sectional championships, sectional runner up, and many athletes that have gone on to compete at a collegiate level in all divisions. Thank you to all the athletes, parents and coaches that have helped to build this amazing program!

Hello Middle and High School Families,

Cross Country practice, for incoming 5th-12th grade boys and girls, starts on Monday, August 17th 8:00am-10:00am. Please make sure your student athlete has a completed sports physical or alternate year card completed and turned in to your coaches by the first day of practice. Yearly online registration needs to be completed as well. There will be a brief parent meeting on August 17th at 7:00pm in the secondary commons.

Cross country practice for middle school(5th-8th grades) and high school starts August 17!
Be sure students are registered for school (can be found in Infinite Campus). Be sure to click that they will be in sports and fill out those forms as well! Finally students need a physical or an alternate year card. Reach out if you have questions!

The Gillett student athlete leadership team is a new grouped formed of student athletes from 9th-12th grade and from all sports that encourages communication between student-athletes, coach’s, officials, and community members to improve the student athlete experience and school/sport culture.
